Ive used Lacrosse Burly Outdoorsmans for 3 decades. Ive only had 2 pairs in 30 years.
I think they dropped the Outdoorsman and call them just Burly now.
The plain green rubber ones.....none of that camo fabric crap.
They must have the Air Grip tread and 800 grams of thinsulate.....good to -40 degrees.
I'm an Irish setter guy 1200 or 800g depending on temp for the win.
Ive never owned Irish Setter boots but ive heard they are great.......but very expensive.
The Lacrosse Burlys you can find for around $100.
The first pair I owned I bought in 1987 or so for about $40.
The second pair I bought in about 2003, I paid $65.
I will gladly pay $100 for my next pair.
I only use them for hunting and other excursions into the woods.
For daily winter farm work I have a couple pairs of Sorrels.....its cheaper to replace the inserts when you fill your boots with cow crap.

I have 2400 gram pack boots. I have poor circulation and sitting is the issue. I bought my wife one of those zippo hand warmer thingies and put it together after the morning hunt. Pretty impressed so far.All you guys and your cold toes.

Puts out some surprising heat, even in the little tote bag. Says it'll run for 12 hours. If it's true, that'll solve my hand issues.
Walking out to my stand at 6:30 and hear a gunshot. Really? Friggin jerk offs. Saw a 4-6 pointer walk by me at 7:20 at about 45 yards. Decided to wait for something bigger. On 2nd thought, if I see him again he's gonna get a .44 mag headache.

I have 1000 gram thinsulate redhead boots and just my toes get cold.
I had two pairs of socks on as well. My toes get cold easily though so I wonder if I have circulation issues too. They get cold driving in the car. I crank the heater to the floor and I get way too hot so then I crack a window. Sometimes I wear socks to bed. My wife makes fun of me.

So I sat for a couple hours and that Zippo heater is no joke! Sucker puts out some heat. I filled it about half way at 9:30 this morning and it ran until I'd say somewhere around 1:30-2:00. That sucker is going in the pack before my gun.

I had the Burly boots , my feet got cold in those too.. they were fine on most days but the worst thing was trying to pull them off .. struggled with them for years until I got drunk enough and sick enough of prying them off, so I cut the fuckers off with my hunting knife.All you guys and your cold toes.

Now it's Muck boots or my old snowmobile boots for these cold days were I'm just sitting.. oddly I can sit all day with cheap ass jersy cotton gloves..

Used to use pocket heaters like this for hunting and ice fishing 40 years ago! Way before those hot hands heaters and battery operated socks were around. Everything old becomes new again in time.

I've had the same pair of Sorel Blizzard XT boots for must be 21 years now. Bought them for snowmobiling. They're finally needing to be replaced, the stitching is finally coming apart. Never had a problem with feet getting cold unless it was -20 or something. Then I'd just drop a Zippo hand warmer down each one and sinch the lanyard up. Nice and toasty.
I had a pair of the military Micky Mouse boots once. Really really warm and didnt matter if you walked through a stream in 0 degrees. They dont fit me good though and my feet end up hurting bad. I'll probably try Muck boots or something similar this time.

I was out saturday... saw 3 was able to get shots off on two does. I swore I hit each. I tried my lever action this year with iron sites.....I thought they were dead on so either I just suck or something in now off. I will have to check it out in the off season. so back to shotgun and the .243 next weekend.

It was a busy weekend for me, so I didn't have time to post. I had a really good opening morning. I shot 2 does both around 130lbs and a 3 1/2 year old buck that was 158lbs. He was only a 7pt and was a good cull deer, poor genetics. I'll post pictures when I can.
I also saw a bunch of fox and fishers. It was crazy this season.
For all the new gear.
The stand was excellent and very comfortable. Very happy with the purchase and would recommend it.
The heated dewalt coat was key with the cold weather. I was expecting the coat to feel hot, like a heating pad. This wasn't the case, the heat subtle and able to keep up with the cold very well.
The bibs were good, not much to say. Functional and good for the price point.
I also saw a bunch of fox and fishers. It was crazy this season.

Ya our freezer is about full! All of deer had a ton of fat this year, like a crazy amount. IDK if I believe that indicates the type of winter we are going to have.
This one was average, but my cousin got one that had above normal fat on it. The last few days were brutal but my new underarmor base layer paid off. Definitely worth the price tag!
