I got a chance to go out yesterday. My brother in Binghamton was hunting his son-in-laws family property off Nowlan Rd. I saw 3 squirrels and a crow.
Hoping to find someplace to go next weekend. I have a 4 day weekend after Thanksgiving.
Taking the ride up 17 yesterday morning I was surprised to only see 4 or 5 deer. Real nice buck grazing on the shoulder near Wurtsboro. Only saw remnants of one road kill. Normally this time of year, 17 is littered with carcasses

In some areas it helps but in reality scouting and having knowledge of their routine in the area you're going to hunt in is the best option

I bought some. I just need to make this buck move 30-40 feet for a better shot. Well that is if I see him. Also I’m sitting on the ground so the cover scent will be helpful. I did put all my clothes in bags and totes with leaves and place them outside on the area I hunt the night before. Cold in the morning but that life.

There are still DMPs available down here in 9J........ we never run out. I filled 2 yesterday and thats all the meat I need so now im just hunting for fun. If I see a nice buck ill take it but no big deal.
