5.56 ammo battle! Bulk vs Premium.

Well not exactly bulk vs premium. More like walmart vs ordered ammo.
When I get home in a few weeks I will be doing a comparison of six different manufacturers over three loads. For 55gr M193 it will be Lake City XM193 vs MEN M193, the latter is supposed to be some of the finest M193 available. In 62g M855 it will be, again, Lake City vs GGG. And as before the GGG is said to be the best M855 available. And finally, for 77gr we will have IMI "Razorcore" 77gr OTM
And the actual, authentic Black Hills 77gr mk262 mod 1 round. I will be shooting 5 round groups at 100 yards for the test. If I have time, and depending on the results of the 100 yard comparo, I will also conduct a 300 yard test.

I'll also be shooting 64gr Gold Dots. I'm really looking forward to seeing if the things I've read about the GGG M855 are true.

I am testing to see what, if any, accuracy differences exist between the various brands. Specifically if the MEN and GGG loads live up their reputation. Oddly enough though the price of the former are a few cents cheaper per round than retail LC ammo prices. I am also very curious to see how the 77gr IMI stuff that I get for around 67 cents a round compares to the 1-freakin'-10 a round Black Hills stuff. I paid fifty seven bucks for a box of fifty of that
Black Hills ammo I also want to see what differences in trajectory exist between the various weights.
As for parameters........... Dude I'm a plinker, I like shooting milk jugs and soda cans, I dunno what I'm doing man! I'm just gonna bag it on a bench and see what happens.

I've used GGG in 7.62X51 out of a M1A and a inch pattern FAL and have had good results. It's also about the cleanest surplus you can find. I'm not sure if the 5.56 will shoot the same though?

From what I've read it supposed be equally as good. Supposedly nearly match grade. Like Swiss GP11 I suppose.

What the barrel twist I'm running a 1-7 twist and its eating 55 to 80gr but realy likes the 62 - 64gr bullets but she also a new rifle. I'm loading up my 223 now.

The IMI seems like good stuff but the best group I shoot was from Hornady target rounds pricey too.

IMI seems to offer accurate, consistent ammo at a good price by using fairly dirty powder.

Which of this stuff is crap? The lowest quality stuff listed is the Lake City which everyone seems to love, It's always worked well for me. But since I can get it for a little cheaper online, and given the reputation they have I wanted to test the bog standard Lake City ammo against the highly regarded MEN and GGG stuff. Also regardless of how well the Black Hills performs I will never buy it in any quantity, it is just too expensive. I am merely curious to se what t he extra $$ gets you over the IMI. I'm not, nor do I desire to be, a paper punching bench shooter so match ammo has little appeal to me. I like to shoot in higher volumes.

I didn't really notice that when I use them but then again 100 to 200 round you gun gets dirty.
I'm loading up some 65gr Seirra Gamekings this week to use on some Yotes this month.
