I didn't really notice that when I use them but then again 100 to 200 round you gun gets dirty.
I'm loading up some 65gr Seirra Gamekings this week to use on some Yotes this month.

Well it a matter of degree of course but I noticed that after 120 rounds of the 64gr Gold Dots the action almost looked as if it hadn't been fired. After a similar amount of IMI 69gr IMI the action was pretty heavily fouled with powder. I went through about 500 rounds before additional lubing was required to maintain normal function. I consider 1000 rounds to be the more typical interval, in otherwords I should not need to dump oil in the gun at all during a typical session. I'm thinking I should get some Fiocchi 5.56 as well. It seems to be very nice lower cost ammo as well.

even for shooting steel i dont use that stuff. terrible groups. there are some really great ammo available at good prices that are far better than that stuff.

i will get the name of the inexpensive reman ammo i use outta Pa.

i do not use "match ammo" from over the counter.

Well Mr giggle switch, the whole purpose of rhis excercise is to determine what is crap and what is not. I will be headed home in two weeks. Give me the ammo source you alluded to and maybe I can validate your claim.

After the Unsafe Act passed, I got rid of a lot of stuff. An XDS, an SKS, a Keltec KSG, a Mini 14, and a Beat up Bushmaster. I feared the ammo thing and got just what I needed for defense.

Glock and carbine. I then took that money and made sure I wasn't going to run out of ammo. I'm pretty much set as far as that goes.

Now when the money gets right, the 5.56 will be replaced. I'm done with toys. It's all about function now. The 5.56 will be for hunting if I ever get into it and for a SHTF if I'm static. The carbine is for being on the move.

Ah, very nice! Good prices. So you really like their ammo then? Only problem is that they seem to be only selling 223 by the 1000 rnd lot. Its a good price but I've hit my ammo budget for the month. I'd only want 50 or so for the comparison. Maybe next month.

The problem you're going to have with these cheap plinking rounds is that they'll vary not only within the same batch but even more so over time, between batches.

I shoot it too but I'm trying to hit a 4" popper at 100 yards (and I mostly do), that's what it's for.

The GGG stuff is said to be very consistent. We will see. The IMI stuffbcertainly is very good stuff, just a little dirty.

Exactly 2,300 rounds of edification and entertainment.
The ammo cans on the right each contain 240 rounds of the 77gr IMI OTMs, beneath those are 120 rounds of the MEN 55grn and to the right of those are the 50 rounds of Black Hills 77gr SMKs (Mk262 mod 1).
The cans on the left each have 420 rounds of Lake City 55gr, underneath to the left are 100 rounds of the GGG 62gr M855, to the right of those are the Lake City 62gr M855. The Mags at the bottom are each loaded with 4.3 Cuomos of 64 Gold Dots. In the middle are 200 rounds of Fiocchi 115gr 9mm (standard pressure) and 350 rounds of 124gr Federal HST (also standard pressure).
This is gonna be fun <cackles maniacally>

Accuracy, I can take it out to 300 yards if need be. I have enough to show comparisons at 100 and 300. This is mostly just me having fun. I don't have the facilities/equipment for terminal performance testing unfortunately. It would be fun to do some gel tests but I simply don't have time for all the prep, I got home just yesterday evening and I will be headed out early morning of this thursday, won't be back for another month.

I would imagine the groups for the LC XM855 to be noticeably larger than the others. In my experience it is about 4 MOA ammo. The Black Hills stuff should allow me to see the potential of the rifle as well as my own capabilities. We will see how the IMI stuff does in comparison, which is mu prime interest here. I am hoping for sub 2 MOA groups with the 77gr OTMs.

There are 10/30 and I think 10/20 versions available as well as regular 10 rounders.
