I've been checking TS-USA daily, prices aren't TOO bad (30 cents a round...) considering the market. BassPro has their Herter ammo in stock on the website almost daily but won't let us order here.. I've been to the Utica store twice and they've been cleaned out both times (at least for 9mm/5.56).

I think I said before, I have two decent-sized orders through SWFA, but they don't know when they'll be able to ship (and they charged my credit card already.....).

My supply is doing okay, I didn't stack as deep as I should have as I was working on building the collection up first, and the accessories (sights, holsters, magazines).

I haven't taken the 1911 .45 to the range in a while and I have a lot of that ammo as I only have one .45 gun (Ruger SR1911) - next month I'll take that out.

Not sure where on TSUSA you are seeing 9mm ammo for $0.30/round because I’ve checked everyday for the last week and zero has been in stock. If it were $0.30/round I’d buy a few thousand because it’s going for $0.50-$0.60/round on gun broker right now. You can’t go by out of stock ammo prices since they aren’t updated. All I’ve seen in TSUSA is $0.80/round self defense ammo.

I’ve also checked cabelas, gander outdoors, ammo supply warehouse, outdoor limited and a few others almost daily and no ammo or super expensive at prices mentioned above.

Not a single 9mm round at TSUSA today.

I’ve found ammo there...it’s frustrating, but you literally have to check every few minutes on a day off. Stuff comes in every couple of days, but it’s out in a matter of minutes.

It was for 2 boxes. I don't even own a shotgun... o_O

2 boxes of TULA 9mm, 5 boxes of ZQI 9mm. I did the math and they were about $0.36/rnd... :poop:

I'm not desperate for ammo, but wanted to recoup (mostly) what I shot this summer testing out the P365XL. Trying not to fall back on my long-term stuff.

I check regularly and don’t see anything for any reasonable price in 9mm, .380, .223, or .45. Glad you found some. I don’t really care since I don’t need it but if I could find some cheap I’d buy it and resell it. I do check TSUSA but can’t check it every few minutes since I work. I only have weekends off. Again not really concerned as I have a bunch. At $0.36/round I’d consider buying it though.

And that's why who those of us who stockpile in the good times are not as crazy as people make us out to be....

Most of us have seen multiple shortages like this that drag on for a year or more.

Suddenly having 5 or 10 thousand rounds doesn't seem like such a bad idea.

Even setting aside the whole SHTF self defense angle. If I get a chance to get in some range time, I can go and shoot whatever I feel like right now with no worries.

How many gun owners will be able to say that ?

Even an optimistic estimate has it well into 2021 before they will be able to just drop into the local shop and expect what they need to be in stock for a reasonable price.

I'm still shooting .22lr that I paid $8.50 a brick for.

I've got some 7.62x39 that was from the good old days when it was $65/1000 round case.

Seems like even without a collapse of society, ammo is a good investment.

I still find it funny that on a gun forum, especially this forum, there are any members that are short on ammo and feel like they are in a crunch.

I say especially this gun forum because it is so heavy in politics and really up to date news headlines. If the writing was not on the wall for many here, you are a lost cause!!

Totally.

The only thing thats gonna piss me off is in a month or so when the paperwork finished I am going to have a .380 which is a new caliber to me- and probably no ammo for it. C'est la guerre, bitches, I'm good. Will just be annoying, not a health and safety issue.

Again, new to the arena, only a few months of ownership. Prior to approximately April I had no skin on the game. Wouldn't be in the forefront of anyone's mind to buy ammunition if they hadn't owned a firearm before, it, to them, and at the time me, just wouldn't make sense. So again, as stated before, just poor timing and by no means a lost cause, just not on the radar. Honestly, just bought as much as I was allowed by the store today while out shopping. Sooooo.....there is that to consider.....

Although most likely gone by now, Last Saturday the Firing Pin near Rochester had 5000 round cases of .22 in stock ( 4 if I remember correctly) for $245/ case. Most like gone by now, dunno, may be worth a call for anyone interested.

My friend, its unfortunate you live so far away. Runnings in Brockport had boxes of it in stock today just a few hours ago, literally. Don't have that caliber firearm, but noticed it due to a customer bought both a 380 and ammo at the same time.

Last week, I held down the gags and went to the justifiably hated not to be named sporting goods box store because a member of this fine forum indicated they had some hard to find pistol calibers in stock. I bought the nine boxes of 380 they had left and the kid behind the counter asked why I thought they would have any 380. I mentioned that I saw it on a forum and the kid quipped .... "an hour ago a guy came in and bought 20 boxes of the 380 saying he heard we had it on NYGUNFORUM."

So to the member who gave us a heads up ... thanks.

To the member who only bought 20 boxes and leaving 9 that I could buy ... thanks.

To the members still looking for 380 in local shops .... sorry, but if I was an hour earlier I may have bought 29.
