This one is 23 1/2 inside, 5 1/2 year old deer. Even in the semi sneek with the ears pinned back it doesn't look that wide. Like Robin said, young deer probably 2 1/2, no where near 20".ears are 8"-9" long

Shoot them. Those apples are for you not them. I shoot the squirrels since they eat my fruits. My wife yells, but oh well. I’m going to shoot the rabbit eating my plants as soon as I can see it when my wife is not home.Im not "allowed" to shoot yard deer.
We have a herd that hangs out in the field and apple trees around our house.
They are pretty tame and graze within 20 yards of us. They are like suburban deer in the cities. They even let their babies near us.
Now get that butt ugly, dusty old 23-1/2" deer outta here, making me sneeze...
Here is the best trophy. As the saying goes, "you cant eat horns". lol
Well, they denied my day off to go hunting so I got one at work!

He impaled himself on a fence (my kids’ school no less), got off, ran into the street and got hit. We tried to contain him in the school yard but her got out. Died on a front lawn down the block. I called the ranger and he said he was busy so just take it. Score!
I’m fairly certain I’m the only NYPD cop to ever gut a deer in uniform.
Perks of the job I guess. Turned out to be a pretty good day.He impaled himself on a fence (my kids’ school no less), got off, ran into the street and got hit. We don't want you cops to get blood lust! The rangers will allow anyone to take them, just have to do it the right way. I have his number saved for stuff like this. We’re not allowed to shoot them, so we have to call them.
@Airborneguy that is the coolest thing I ever heard. My cousin lives in SI and I’ve seen swap donkeys that made your look tiny. Good in ya brother.
My dads a cop too and they had a deer that broke through the ice by me and would die die to hypothermia. The local cops called the DEC and the DEC rep would not dispatch the deer even though they said it would die. So the firemen saved the deer and put human lives at risk and the local cops had to shoot it in front of everyone that was cheering for the firemen. My dad was pissed. I’d have refused to shoot it. Let the DEC do it.The rangers will allow anyone to take them, just have to do it the right way. I have his number saved for stuff like this. We’re not allowed to shoot them, so we have to call them.
Damn, catch and release a few bruisers upstate please.
A silencer would be a great asset there.
With my luck I would nail one and it would run and drop in the street right in front of a cruiser.. and it wouldn’t be @AirborneguyCrossbow

It’s not our decision anyway. I had to get approval to take it. It’s crazy, we can’t even shoot them to put them down.
I have a great video of this one running around AFTER he had impaled himself and ripped himself off of the fence. It’s crazy how much pain they can endure.
