Who Counts the Votes of the Presidential Electors?

Come January 2021, Vice President Mike Pence will be presented with the sealed certificates containing the ballots of the presidential electors. At that moment, the Presidency will be in his hands.

And there is nothing stopping Pence, under the authority vested in him as President of the Senate, from declining to open and count the certificates from the six disputed states. If they are (as more than 70% of Republicans believe) certificates from non-electors appointed via voter fraud, why should he open and count them? As Harrison noted, “the certificates that the President of the Senate is to open… are those of the electors, not those of non-electors.”

The President’s position going into January 2021 is thus considerably stronger than the mainstream media would like to admit. There is Constitutional language and historical precedent that gives his Vice President the unilateral power to decide the outcome of our contested election.

My understanding, however little it is, is that the above scenario is accurate. The problem I see is that the MSM has not reported ANY of these facts. The overwhelming majority of Americans have zero knowledge and no foresight into any of this. All this Constitutional guidance is surpressed to the average American. Therefore, in their eyes, as directed by the MSM and social networks, any of the above actions will be an attempted coup by Trump and his minions. It won't be viewed as legal. Hence, the guaranteed shit storm to follow.

My initial reaction to this mess was that it is important to not let the cheaters get away with cheating - at what ever cost.

I'm not sure though that our way of life will continue no matter who is ultimately President. If Trump pulls this off, the left will go more bananas than they are now, and will shut down the government and burn what's left. The leftists have enough control of enough states and cities to do some real damage.

If Bejing Biden gets it, we'll never have another fair election again and will likely be like Venezuela in 10 years.

I don't see a scenario where this works out well.

I have zero faith in Pence to throw out the contested states electors. I mean, if Trump has the evidence and it's legit, I would hope he would have showed it all to Pence and Pence would do the right thing, but I am not counting on him doing so.

Unfortunately this is how I see it. When I saw that article about Pence going overseas after the count to me it meant the process is expected to go smoothly and procedurally. Either that or he needs to hide out. Highly doubtful it's the latter.

As far as that goes, I wouldn't read into it too much. If his schedule is made months in advance, it's likely not related to anything election at all. However, who knows?

I don't think Pence has the stones to go down in history as the guy that 'stole the election', 'subverted the will of the people', 'killed democracy', and every other thing the media will sling at him. Even SCOTUS is unwilling to upset the mob.

If this is the true and correct Constitutionally prescribed path, Pence has the chance to go down in history as the man who saved our country. His strong religious beliefs, whether you agree with them or not, may actually make him less susceptible to and better able to withstand intimidation and public pressure. China hates freedom of religion more than the democrats and allowing them greater influence over our country would be unacceptable.

We (our side ) can prove fraud . It takes a lot of time to put everything together We don't have the ability to do forensic audits of most machines and folks that could demand it are unwilling. Run it through a court case where people are under oath and have a judge admit the evidence to the court with positive finding.

At that point I will accept it as credible, but not until then. There is NOTHING that legally requires any of these people to be truthful at this point.

That's my standard, and it's either met or it isn't. It's a hard line for me. That goes for Democrats too, if they want to claim something - put up in court or shut up.
