I may hold off a bit on a new barrel for the SCR, I re-sighted it in yesterday at 50 yards off a bi-pod with some Winchester 45gr rds, I didn't have a marker so I aimed at what seemed to be the center of the plate, top left was first with 5rds then I let a friend of mine give it a try top right 5rds then back to me for the bottom plate with 5rds. This is with a Nikon 3-9x40 bdc scope, which I may change to a Nikon Coyote Special 4.5-14x40 with side focus that was on my Mini 14
So now I will try some different weight bullets to see what shoots best.

On another note when I installed the Troy Ambi Mag Release last week be sure not to make it to tight. I was getting failures to fire, so I loosen it one turn and that fix it!
I want to get a non reciprocating side charger for my SCR. There are many out there that do not need any work done to the bolt carrier so the SCR bolt carrier should work fine.

If this is what I think (a side charging handle like a Mini 14) this would interest me for sure! I really don't want to raise the scope on mine any more!

Yeah I think due to the way the lower and stock is for the scr it would benefit greatly from a side charger
Yes after I move the scope back 2 spaces to get a better sight picture, it does make get to the charging handle a bit tight!
Other probably good option and a little less expensive would be the raptor charging handle

I already have a Radian Raptor Ambidex charging handle but I still find its difficult to get to the charging handle because of my cantilever.
I just looked at the pic's of your SCR, What optic is that? If a straight red-dot do you need in that far back if magnified I can see why.

I was at the range and saw my first SCR up close. The hand guard looks stupid and out of proportion, the barrel diameter is too small and with no magazine makes it look like a pellet gun, in fact at a glance it could be mistaken for a Crossman. That was my honest first impression and is totally based on visual's alone. Aesthetic's sell and with just a a few tweaks I could make that a much more desirable gun. The guy that owned it said he really likes it, even better than his AR and offered to let me shoot it but I was on my way out and he was still unloading stuff so I took a pass.

I love the look of parkerized metal with wood furniture. Some nice wooden rail guards would really tie that all together.
1st I doubt he liked it better than his AR (unless he has a thordson stock or pinned mag AR) sounds more or less like him trying to accept that's what he has to deal with.
And as for the aesthetics, the handguard and barrel? Well it takes all standard AR uppers (just their proprietary lower) so who knows if the owner put their own upper together or if they just bought the most basic upper that they could or got one with the SCR which honestly looks like something they just tossed together to keep the cost down knowing people would change stuff out anyways

Yea ok the scr is so much better and more ergonomic than a standard AR that's why all the spec ops and competition shooters and even hunters are all ditching their M4s and AR15s for the scr..
