Nice if i want to change the upper on my AR15, FELONY. Oh you want to change your buffer? FELONY or you want to change the stock on your Ruger 10/22? FELONY.
If this passes there will be THOUSENDS of overnight felons born. I know i would have enough to be put away for life, and i have never even had a speeding ticket.
Is the legislative session over or can the assembly still come back and vote for this?
If this is signed into law you will need to put a serial number on all home made guns. That way you don’t have to fight for your freedom in court proving you made it before the law was passed. I know it is expose facto but in the PRNY the constitution does not apply. Can anyone say if you already own a home made firearm does it have to be serialized or does this apply to future projects?

You have 6 months from the effective date to have existing "ghost guns" properly serialized according to 18 US Code Section 923, Subsection (i).
I'm not sure about the registration part though. If you take it to a "gunsmith" to serialize after this becomes law, I believe the gunsmith is obligated to register it with the state. However, if it is properly marked according to that federal law prior to the passage of this law, registration may not be required? The bill is very circular in this instance and I'm not sure if my interpretation is correct.
If my interpretation is correct, it would be wise to slap a serial number and your name on any 80% guns ASAP.
Register what?
If it's a SUCK act compliant weapon anyway what is there to "register"?
Do they grandfather Pre-Ghost guns? ...I am confused.
The state doesnt give a standard, however the feds do. Maker, City and state, serial number. Needs to be deeper than .003" no smaller than 1/16" tallSo, is free hand engraving acceptable, or does it have to be in block Roman. FUAC 001 for example, engraved, could be very nicely done. As far as registration, its' in my date book, I think I'm good.
