I want yet another AR-15

Disclaimer: I didn't read every Post in this thread.

It depends on what you want it for. Just looking for a 2-3 MOA blaster? Buy cheap. Just be warned that if you decide you want accuracy, you'll spend more in upgrades.

You want a half MOA target rifle? Take your time and buy quality components. Spend the most on a quality trigger, barrel, and optics. Build it yourself. You'll learn a lot and have pride in the final product.

If you were closer, I have most of the tools and would help you.

I'll edit to add that my very first build, I did the lower and bought a complete upper. I've since rebuilt that one.

Since then, I've built 4 or 5 for others and 5 for myself. Complete builds from parts.

My most accurate is a 16" 6.5 Grendel that is constantly 1/2 to 3/4 MOA at 100 yards with factory ammo.

My most expensive is my 6.5 Grendel side charge pistol. I'm guessing 1200+/-.

Despite all the jokes, I have found anderson stripped lowers to be in better spec than palmettos and maybe even spikes.

They are still Anchor Harvey.

Kotaboy32 on youtube did a vidoe on a budget 3 gun build vs an ultimate.

For the budget he used a bca barrel.

His conclusion? The $650 budget build did 90% as well as his top tier $2700 build.

Yeah, I am thinking about doing a JACK10 one day. Trouble is now that I can make the lowers from 80% receivers I have a hard time buying a completed one. Guess I am a cheap bastard. I also want to grab one of the overthrow lowers. oh the decisions one has to make....

If you're not planning on using the stock trigger, you can buy damn near any lower parts kit.

Personally, I think CMMG has the nicest milspec trigger "out of the box"- but otherwise you're paying a premium for parts you aren't even going to use if you're going to swap in a drop in fire control group.
