The US government doesn't have the right to restrict what us citizens can own. The NFA is illegal and unconstitutonal. Denying a hostile foreign country arms it wants to use against us is a matter of national defense.

National defense, yes. But we have no more "right" to take them from Kim (who hasn't actually attacked anyone ) than they do from me.

You just need to recognize that while we need to disarm him, we don't have a right to. It's just that in international relations, just like prison yard politics, rights don't mean shit.

Interesting link; thanks. I couldn't read it earlier - was at chemo with my dog. I always thought the Davy Crockett idea was a solid one. You have a front going on where you are perhaps a few miles away from the enemy and maybe 25 to 50 miles out from the enemy forward supply depots. You melt the enemy front and the supply lines; and the enemy cannot even readily drop in replacement troops. The area had some radioactivity, all the buildings were useless, and there were no supplies left. Basically you punch through the middle and flank both the left and right sides of the hole.

It seems like North Korea really doesn't have any of the bad-ass capabilities they think they do. I still would love to drop our nuclear arsenal from 7,200 to 2,000 and boost our MOAB arsenal to upwards of 500,000 units, and reduce military spending as a result. Enough to MOAB every military target in a country fairly immediately at the discretion of the CINC and the Pentagon. I think though the present MOAB's require you to have complete air superiority. You can do that against North Korea or Iran easily; but we could never rely on air superiority against China or Russia. And for that, 2,000 nukes should be enough to keep those two major countries from messing with us. I doubt highly they have 1,000 cities between both countries in total. I figure we have like 3 or 4 major cities in each State, meaning USA has a total of 200 or so major cities. I assume 1 MIRV nuke can completely erase any major city plus the suburban areas around it, more or less. I mean Hiroshima and Nagasaki were absolutely gone; and the yield of those old weapons were a mere fraction of present day weapons. Hiroshima was 13 kilo-tons. Wiki says (yeah - I know) that our standard B83 nuke is equivalent to 75 Hiroshima bombs. Actually - we have way more than the amount of weapons most folks think we do. We have something called the "Enduring Stockpile". At one point USA production was up to 70,000 nukes. Right now Enduring Stockpile contains 9,000 nukes; including a bunch of the old B53 weapons that were 9 megatons and the even more insane B41 which was 25 megatons. Sometimes I just don't understand why we would have produced 70,000 nukes over a 20 year period only to not even bother considering them a viable option for making a bad country go away. It's very expensive mental masturbation if you have zero intent on using it.

I don't really know, but based on the articles in this thread After the Coup, What Then? it would seem that the whole Mueller investigation is to bring Trump down and kill whatever chance this country has at regaining itself and that there will subsequently either be a rising up of patriots, be it in the military or civilian, to counter this attempt and rid the country of the tyrants or that they tyrants will send out death squads to round up gun owners and deplorable's.

I think 9-11 wasn't that big because Chicago has a major exchange location, San Francisco does, etc. But if suddenly there is no exchange for there to even be an ask price and a sell price; what happens? data is backed up all over the place for stocks. I assume if all the exchanges got physically removed the market would be locked out for a time but once the dust settles the main thing is that we could still associate the known stocks to their owners; it would end up being a good long term buy opportunity *morbid chuckle*
