So based on the report and assuming it is true, let’s look at what is said here. Guy wasn’t allowed by the government to own firearms until the age of 30. I’m rolling my eyes on that one but okay. Let’s roll with it. Let’s disregard that he had a clean record based on other reports. Let’s just go with and say that this guy is a 2A crazy loon with booby traps in the house.
So a tip is made that he’s in possession of them. They have to be removed by the government. So rather than getting them after apprehending him when he leaves the house, to go to work or school or whatever he does, a decision was made that it was safer for all innocents in the home and for the officers themselves to enter an unknown dwelling where he can be barricaded with booby traps ready to fire on his terms.
Now let’s look at this realistically and insert ourselves into the equation. Same scenario. You hear a door or glass busted and immediately in our hands is a pistol at the very least from the nightstand. Perhaps a rifle once our bearings are a little better.
What gives you a greater chance in inflicting harm on those who busted into your house? The scenario above or a scenario where you walk out the front door with a concealed pistol at 4 o’clock in the waistband with a garment over it along with a coffee cup in your left hand and car keys in the other totally oblivious of what’s coming your way?
I was born 45 years ago but not yesterday. Based on my experiences as a Fireteam leader, if it were my call, I would apprehend a haji as he is leaving his dwelling rather than assaulting the dwelling. A dwelling has many variables, choke points and fatal funnels. If outside with my 3 men set up, I own the driveway.

Definitely not drugs. If you have enough for a no-knock, you definitely already surpassed the level if proof necessary for a normal search warrant. Detain them outside and serve the search warrant, problem solved.

The, itself unconstitutional, FISA court hears evidence that allows still more overriding the constitution and evidence shows they are nothing more than a rubber stamp. So I don't expect lessor judges to do anything different.

I’m late reading this thread but the “professionals” can’t even seem to get the right address many times.
Exigent circumstances would only cover what Celt said if the cop could articulate the need within a very strict definition. It’s very different from a warrant.
Best example would be information that something will happen at this place, at this time, tomorrow. The cop couldn’t just wait until that time and enter. They would need a warrant.

Also hearing a story on the news doesn’t make it common. Notice how the tens of millions of times they had the correct address wasn’t reported? All of the sudden the few times you heard of a story on the news seems pretty rare and insignificant doesn’t it?
