The House Bill also gives you reciprocity with the standard capacity magazine of the gun you are carrying and the ammunition in the gun itself. The Senate Bill provides no such protections.

I agree the House Bill is better. I just worry it has less chance of passing. And the circumvention of state gun laws in regards to magazine limits seems to beg for litigation on the part of the ban states, and given the recent decisions of the circuit courts the outcome of such litigation would not be favourable.
But this is all just me worrying. Obviously I'm not opposed to the house bill.

Concealed carry nationwide is dead. Paul Ryan wants it that way. So do the vast majority of Republicans who want to control you the same way Democrats do.

I have my unrestricted carry, so Cuomo can suck the shit out of my asshole. NY is one of the most corrupt places on earth. In a way, this all goes back to the Founding Fathers. Jefferson and I believe Hamilton were the big Anti-Federalists. They wants the States to have the power since the States would know best what their residents needed. George Washington was the leader of the Federalists; and believed in a strong Federal government. I suspect that in light of all the Federal laws that States just thumb their noses at (gun laws, illegal alien laws, etc); that the States get to trump anything the Feds want. On POTUS Channel this week, either Julie Mason or Mike Smirconish was interviewing some politician that said the entire State of California was going to become a sanctuary state and would reject any request by ICE to hold anyone and would ban ICE being allowed in any police station, jail, or prison to take custody of an illegal.

Ie if it's specifically expressed in the constitution, then it is the power of the federal government.
If It is not specifically in the constitution, well then it is up to the State.

I can't remember where, but I could have sworn I have read somewhere that the people have a right to bear arms, and I believe it was a document that encompasses the whole country (ie federally). Oh well I'm sure I'll think of where I heard that at some point

I just worry if the House Bill as you describe isn't to bitter a pill for the antis to swallow. I further worry that if the House Bill fails to get through it screws the pooch for further attempts. But if it is the House Bill that finds its legs first than so be it.

They should introduce a nationwide constitutional carry bill, so that we can compromise and get the house bill.....

How do the States keep getting away with violating our 2nd Amendment rights? Here in NY we cannot have Class III, have to alter AR's until they look downright retarded, and cannot have high capacity sidearms. Oh - and cannot carry in NYC. So clearly NY said fuck you to Uncle Sam.

I don't understand how the 10th Amendment works; apparently. It seems to me that the powers regarding firearms are delegated by Article 1 Section 8 ("To provide for calling forth the Militia....."). While A1S8 talks about the Militia; the Militia Act of 1792 clarifies that there is an organized militia (which I assume is now the National Guard and Air National Guard), and the unorganized militia (which is like every able bodied American). Seems to me the SAFE Act restricts the unorganized militia; and when that bad boy was written the concern of the Founding Fathers was that the unorganized militia had weaponry equal to what King George and his henchmen had. So IMHO the unorganized militia should have access to the exact same stuff any standing army has access to. M4's, AK's, bazookas, flame throwers, etc.

However, NY does not have any firearms protection in the state constitution. Precisely why Cuomo doesn't want the Fed to step up their game. And as revised of Jan 1 2017, in the Bill of Right section, the 10th 13th and 15th have been repealed.
