What worries me is what it says on the SCOPE site:
"38) Indicating a pistol permit on the face of a driver’s license is not a decision that has been made yet"
If this happens anytime I go somewhere and need to use my DL as ID I am letting that clerk or person know I have a permit and possibly a CCP (if NYS decides to show this)
I know this is not yet decided, but it's something to keep a close eye on and be ready to visit your representative about.

It's ironic because if you are a registered voter in New York State: your name and address is PUBLIC information. And you can not "opt-out" from that with the local county board of elections. Go figure!

The amendment form on the NYSP website is for display purposes only. You need NOT notify the NYSP of any new acquisitions/transfers of pistols; this is done by the county sheriff's or clerk's office as it has in past prior to the SAFE Act.

Got my re-cert letter in the mail yesterday. Oh joy! Funny thing is my dad didn't get his yet. You'd think they'd send them all out at the same time.

In part this is what happened with the Canadian long gun registry. Apparently grease guns and nail guns got submitted.
I do know for fact a lot of one gun owners who still have their Erie County paper permit signed by Moses.

I'm not on twitter, but I think any sort of communication voicing our concerns to him regarding anything 2A, not just NY issues, would be a good thing. The more he hears from his base, the less likely he is to forget what's important.

Without me going to find all of the original paperwork, how the heck do I know when exactly I received my permit?
I know it was right around January 2013 but hell if I can remember if it was before or after. I also remember the Judge sitting on it after screwing up the original signature and the permit having to go back to him to re-sign. It was last signed by Judge Cahill on 2-19-14

I agree. It's filled with people who no longer live here whether by moving or death.
It also may not be in order with our information but they have it. Every time I have done an amendment, I had to fill it out in duplicate. One goes to the state. That's state law written in Penal Law 400. It has since been amended to be clearer but I remember reading it there prior to the Unsafe Act.

IANAL so take this as an educated guess. The date of 2-19-14 is likely entitled 'Issued'. If that's the case your renewal is five years from that date.
