Listen ,you do what your heart tells you to do , I just don't want to hear anybody bitching about illegal laws while they are complying with it at the same time. It sounds a little hypocritical .
I see a lot of heroism. I wish I had the balls to walk to Albany, break in, and hack my amendments out of their system.
So then what good is a safe queen? Other than an ego boost, it's useless.
The washed up "do it in front of a cop" farce falls flat, when doing it under the radar is exactly what got prohibition repealed. Not really, its like smoking pot , You just don't fire up in theater.
Voluntarily allowing the state into our homes by not complying with this recert bullshit isn't going to do anyone a bit of good, there is no way to win this. On February 1st everyone who hasn't done their recert will no longer be considered a law abiding citizen and he will have won that battle. Sounds great on the web but at the end of the day when firearms get taken it's a loss no matter how you look at it. Der Fuhrer wants that to happen so he can go on his soap box saying how much safer he made NY by confiscating such and such number of illegal handguns and rifles. And that's exactly what will happen.
You were saying to not recert, correct? That is voluntarily allowing the state into our homes. That's not what I said to do.
Don't even use SCOTUS. When exactly have they done us in NY any good? NY violates most of their rulings as it is without implication, we won't see any change in that soon.

SCOTUS doesn't have to take it, we've seen this already. We do not have a firm enough hold on SCOTUS.It has to go to the supreme court. that's the way it works . The challenge will be brought . There's no getting around it. and the law could never stand on its own . Its completely unconstitutional.
That's got to be the stupidest analogy I've heard so far on this forum. Yep. Those who purchased booze in prohibition registered each bottle they bought with their county and with the state and then hid their hootch from the state right? The washed up "do it in front of a cop" farce falls flat, when doing it under the radar is exactly what got prohibition repealed.
This is what sort of makes our side sound stupid, I admit, by even responding to the yipping Chihuahuas tugging at the governor's leash.
Easier said than done in most areas. Most off the grid are stolen to begin with. I know plenty who've done just this but I also choose to carry mine and hunt with mine. That route isn't viable for me. The fist time, god forbid, that I ever used one in self defense is a sure trip to the slammer for having an off the grid handgun. The first time an ECO stops to chat while I'm hunting with an off the grid handgun is a sure trip to the slammer. I just plain prefer to use my handguns without sneaking between shadows.no. I was saying to not play by the rules . get your guns off the grid. you cant beat them at their game.
Yep. These guys don't know how to blend in and wait to strike. They willingly turn their selves in and think they are fighting. You were saying to not recert, correct? That is voluntarily allowing the state into our homes.
Majority of Livingston County pistol permit holders completing recertificationHey guess what ladies?
State and county law enforcement say they do not plan to pursue criminal charges against pistol permit holders who fail to recertify their permits by Jan. 31.
In recent months, state and county officials have raised concern that failing to extend the recertification deadline would turn thousands of law-biding pistol-owners into criminals overnight.
NY SAFE Act And Its Recertification Fiasco
What's this now?NYSP decided on its own not to charge permit holders who fail to re-certify, according to a spokesman
So then they will delete this part of the law ... If it is not stricken then it hangs over everyone's head like a sword ... by a string . Today the claim they will not enforce it ... Next year ...Folks by the tens of thousands will have their 2nd taken away. .. "you did not comply"
If they can just decide not to enforce this part, they can just decide not to enforce any of it. That would be my suggestion. Certainly easier for them that way....NYSP decided on its own not to charge permit holders who fail to re-certify, according to a spokesman

I said as much in another thread on this. To me, it gives a small indication as to just how much law enforcement likes this law ( which isn't much). You don't really see all that many safe act arrests in the news and most, if I'm not mistaken, are charges attached to something else. So far this law's greatest achievement has been creating a chill effect on gun owners. It is starting to show how absurd and mostly unenforceable it is, though I'm sure most LEO's knew that from the get go.If they can just decide not to enforce this part, they can just decide not to enforce any of it. That would be my suggestion. Certainly easier for them that way....
