Rules
Entry posts must be marked "Official Entry"
Challenge must be completed in the same range session as it was started.
Entries must be shot and posted between 1-31 October
Print on 8.5x11 or 8.5 x14 ( the one with the ladies on it) sheet of paper (should fill full sheet).
Only one target may be entered per category. Once you enter a target set it is your score for that category. Any additional targets posted will be for "kudos" only. You may enter all four categories if you wish.
Final tie breaker is date and time of entry

Information required with each entry (any target submitted without the information below will not be considered):
Picture of target with the following information (examples given):
Description of gun ( Remington 783, 38-06, 12-56x56 Simmons super spotter scope)
Distance (100 yards)
Stance or rest used (sandbag front and rear)
Caliber/Cartridge (.30-06 Springfield)
Load used (750 gr SHPBT, 59.5 grains H9002sc, CCI primer)/ whatever factory load you used.
Date (32 Juvember 2317).

The scenario: It is All Hallows' Eve month so there are a lot of things that present themselves as great targets. Jack o Lanterns and Bats are everywhere. Have a blast, literally.

10 Yard Pistol Stance: Free style
25 yard Rifle Stance: Off Hand
100 yard Rifle Stance: From the Bench/ Bench Rest / Prone
50 yard Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC) Stance: Freestyle or Bench Rest

Course of fire: 10 rounds

Scoring: points are on the target, you only have to cut the circle to get the next highest score. Shooting the any part of the pumpkin gives you full points, hit any eye or nose and get an X to add to your score, max of 3X per pumpkin (74 /25x is perfect score). Only one target can be entered per category.

Rifle use the Jack o Lantern target
Pistol and PCC use the Bat target
No rimfire cartridges are allowed in the PCC class.

I'm in on this one! Is the PCC gonna be a regular thing now? I've been kinda wanting one to fart around with lately and using it for matches is a good excuse to get one. After I get the AR build finished though.

Personally I like the 50 yard distance for the PCC match, seems like a good fit for the PCC's niche

Printed off all the targets and I'll be headed off to the range first thing tomorrow morning. I am a little short on 5.56 so I am supplementing with these:

@Bullet Guy, are these similar to what you load? I didn't have the foresight to order any from that other place so I picked these up in a local store.

You will need to re-zero your rifle.

I'll verify zero of course but I doubt at 25 yards there will be any difference. My rifle is currently zeroed at 25 yards with IMI M193. I'll try to save some of each for longer range comparison, depends on how long it takes me to turn in a suitable score.

I just printed off the targets, will make a bunch of copies at work! Have a three day weekend but working OT Saturday morning and fall work party at the Club Sunday. Then next weekend new member orientation on Saturday and Hunter Ed on Sunday! Followed by Appleseed the next weekend!! Busy month ahead!

Well then I did passably on the pistol target then. It won't be a winning score but I'm pleased with it nonetheless. My 25 yard rifle target however will put up a tougher fight. Just finished, headed home now will post pics later. Good thing too, it just started pouring here.

25 yard offhand rifle
Daniel Defense AR15, 16" chrome lined CHF barrel, DI Optical FC1 red dot
Hornady 55gr HP Match (brass case)

Straight forward enough, I call it 54 2X. I actually managed to shoot a few targets of a similar score, that Hornady Match is good ammo.

Pistol 10 yard Freestyle
Walther PPQ, Trijicon HD sights
Winchester White Box 124gr NATO spec loading

Put 3 shots right into the 7-8 ring area at 6 o'clock and I cant tell if the actual shot cut the 8 ring or not so I called it a hit in the 7 ring which gives 85 points. I think this is
really good for me!

I spent the rest of the day popping clays at 200 yards with the rifle which was a ton of fun once I figured out the right hold. The Daniel Defense continues to deliver the goods.
I did have an extremely bizarre malfunction with the PPQ though. One round did not seat in the chamber all the way for some reason and it completely locked up the action. I had to take the slide off and beat on the hood of the barrel to get it free from the slide and remove the round. Closer inspection revealed nothing unusual either in the chamber or of the round. The round later cycled through without incident. This was the only malfunction of the day though it was a doozy.

................No way! I thought for sure my pistol score would fall. As for the pumpkin targets I think the shot that perfectly bisects the eyes of the lower right pumpkin deserves an X and the shot that gave the upper right one a bullet hole tooth also deserves to be an X.

Thanks, it is still early in the month, someone will pick up those 15 points you left on the table. I could not best your scores today though.

I decided to shoot my 92fS today as it only has about 50 round through it and I have had it since October 2014. I did bring a couple of other pistols but ran up against a hard time rule of no shooting past 3pm during hunting season.

When I got to the range there were two trucks stuck in the mud at 100 yards. I had to wait for them to get their crap out of the way before I could start shooting. I told them that is the very reason we don't want you driving out past the firing line. So they ate into my shooting time about an hour. The wind was kicking it today, but it was managble at 100 yards I doubt it would have been at 400.

I went out last week and tried to shoot it. After warming up a bit, I had the opportunity to remind another shooter that sending his wife down range to collect brass - while the range was still hot! - isn't such a good idea.

I was a little shakey after that.

@dsdmmat, forgive the nitpick but could you edit in a space between the pistol and 25yd rifle categories to make it a bit easier to read?
