October target challenge

I have an AR 308 with a red dot that does very well at 100 on the SR1 targets. Suppose next month you and me post up an SR1 target with red dots at 100.

@nortatoga's buckmark has red dot on it. That is why I mention optics division would be the next question.

Oh, SR1 is fine, I'll do that. But try doing our little printer targets at 100 yards without magnification, LOL!

I think red dots on pistols are more about speed than precision, I see no need to class them seperately for our purposes.
Now scopes, yeah that'd be cheesing it a little.

I have ordered 1000 rounds of reman 55gr .223 from Modern Munitions. @Bullet Guy recomended it, uses Hornady match HP bullets I belive. If they are as good as claimed I should be able to post a respectable SR1 for y'all.

@Podmonkey they use regular 55 grain Hornaday. Not match stuff. But you get mad performance out of them.

They use the exact recipe that I’ve been using for years. I’ve been getting excellent results.

I also ordered 500 rounds of their 9mm.
My pistol shooting being what it is all I need from pistol ammo is for it to go "bang".

I just checked their site, maybe I cleaned em out of 223, they don't list it currently!

22 Long rifle needs it’s own class.

They are generally lighter rifles/pistol with a lot less recoil and inexpensive match ammo.

My buddy consistently shoots three and five shot group she can cover with a dime.

What if we kept Rimfire users in the same categories as centerfires but added a rimfire tag at the end of the score listing?

Should satisfy all concerns.

Nope, not enough people playing in the 4 catagories we have. I could eliminate rimfire all together but that would be self defeating.
After rimfire comes the question optics? Or revolver, it would never end.

You just have to ban @nortatoga from 22 Long rifle and make him go shoot something else. Clearly he’s excellent with his 22 Long rifle firearms. So clearly he could use practice on his other firearm calibers.

You can see what they are shooting by reading the thread. There is no reason to put an R or C behind their score.

It would be nice to have 5 or 6 people shoot each catagory. If we could get that then we could have a rimfire division where needed. I often shoot rimfire in the 25 yard rifle, just because I can.

Eh, I'll give the 10/22 another shot in the 25 yard offhand. Its just not as accurate as the Daniel Defense though. Not even with the 3x9 scope vs red dot.

Yeah my rimfire rifle are heavy barrel they are not reall conducive to off hand shooting. But I do it anyway, lol.

CCI mini mag usually. No matter the condition ofnthe 10/22, which is GTG, I wouldn't expect it to equal my AR in accuracy. No Ruger factory 10/22 is gonna shoot MOA.

One of these would positivley rock the 25yd offhand:

Light and precise. I'd pair it with one of them Nikkon 2-7 rimfire scopes.

Why would it make a big difference at 25yds? We're not dealing with the transonic transition yet.
