yep .. It is chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum and is rated to accept +P ammunition. .. its not a German Luger LOL ..
but with this FUAC hole state the gun could have been tucked under the cars engine manifold and the ammo in the trunk and its LOADED ..
the other question is were they just traveling thru NY .. and what was the stop for ..

Thats the issue I have. I always say what would I do if that ever happened to me. It's the government's job to keep the public's confidence.
It's the public's job to assume government is a bunch of crooks and be constantly vigilant for any evidence to that effect.
If you work for the government, you should always strive to prove to the public that you are doing the right thing, and you should expect any secrets or omissions to be viewed in the worst possible light.
Sorry, but most evidence held by the government to be used at trial is not, never has been, and never will be released publicly.

If neither occupant was in direct possession both take the charge. Unless someone owns up to it. By your logic, someone could stash guns, drugs in a common area of the vehicle and drive around with absolute immunity because neither could be charged.
They put themselves in this position and nobody will have any pity on them. If the owner of the gun had owned up to it there would have only been one person charged.

I already don't trust the government. I'm not going to waste my time looking into other people's court cases just to prove I'm right. Honestly that's what the news media is *supposed* to be doing, but most people don't trust them either anymore.
If you want everyone else to feel that way too, by all means, continue with business as usual.
There are only 2 ways a government maintains power, and that is respect or fear. Traditionally the public in the US has respected the government. That is rapidly failing.

Let’s stay on track. You want to know what probable cause the People have against the skells. You want it handed to you instead of going to their trial, as the law has ALWAYS afforded you the right to do. You don’t trust the government because they aren’t spoonfeeding you info that you want even though it is available to you by other means.
I’m sorry, but I’ve no interest in bending over backwards to change someone’s mind, especially when the info they want IS available to them already.

I have wondered that too, letting their dog jump all over your vehicle. Touch a police cruiser and see what happens. I know, I had that experience with a trooper.

Nobody has been proven guilty. They have simply been accused of a crime for which evidence exists. They will probably wise up when push comes to shove. The truth will set you (or your friend) free. Using your argument people could just drive around with a pickup bed filled with fentanyl with immunity because neither the driver or passenger could be charged. It defies logic.
You aren't incriminating yourself by saying its your buddy's gun. Also it doesn't really matter who owned the gun, what's important is who possessed it. In this case it must have been in a common area where they both had access to it. You have to give law enforcement room to operate and do their jobs. Otherwise we would be a nation of lawlessness because criminals would exploit it.

Better advice, don't go driving around at all in a state that violates your rights and the constitution.
I just don't get people who recognize that these laws are a violation of basic human rights and the constitution, then get all victim blaming when someone is assaulted by them.
If some guy goes to a 7/11 in the hood to buy milk in the middle of the night and gets gunned down in a drive by, do you say "nothing good happens after midnight" and blame him for being there in the first place ?
