Good. You shouldn’t be jeopardizing your safety for hearsay. The system is jacked. Domestic violence should be treated just like any other assault to any other person. If someone was legitimately assaulted, they should be dealt with just the same whether it’s a wife, girlfriend, or any man or woman on the street.
Generally, one doesn’t get their guns confiscated when a complaint is filed against them with no proof of an actual assault occurring. Tangible evidence is required. And if tangible evidence is presented and the person is actually arrested and thrown in jail, then their guns are confiscated as it should be since the person has no rights if incarcerated.
The way it is now, your wife can get your guns confiscated for a simple argument just by getting a Temporary Restraining Order with you serving no jail time whatsoever because no proof of an actual crime was presented to lock you up.
So quit crying the blues. I don’t care about the “one life is saved” argument so that guns can be confiscated. The end doesn’t justify the means.

So are the police free from honoring their oaths because politicians passed laws? It is my understanding that the Oath was required to prevent situations like this.
I know you won’t get this because you have me on ignore for whipping you in Internet arguments but at least others can read it and see what a tool you are for using arguments like “if it saves one life” or “look at the politicians and not us.”
What part of the Oath was broken in this "standoff". He violated an order of protection. He committed burglary as well as other crimes.

So they say. Not sure about that yet. There is too much wishy wash on that subject. First it was reports of shots fired then it was a warrant being served. We don’t know that yet.
But if his firearms were confiscated as a free man for a previous DV that resulted in no jail time or a red flag order due to his posts which was the original statement, then that breaks the oath. It also goes for any red flag order or Domestic Violence incident that results in no incarceration for an actual crime committed. IE tried and sentences with jail time for Criminal Assault for DV.
This entire conversation began talking about him holding up in his home... No oath broken in that instance

He was accused of violating an order of protection and accused of committing burglary and accused of other crimes...maybe. We don't really know yet since so much contradictory information has been passed off as fact.
Regardless of what this individual did or didn't do, this episode illustrates that we have a legal system that is susceptible to abuse and a significant part of the population who is upset enough to take action.
I don't see a solution that doesn't get messy.

Two different things...
What happened here and what a member said are two different things.
More than anything I think this one small event should be used as a case study by others to see how much tension there is in our country.
Every day the left is on display with their nonsense.
This time it was the right side that got all worked up. (Perhaps justified, perhaps not).
The right is arguably justified that we do constantly have our rights eroded. Out own governor publicly even said we aren't welcome here. We have politicians on the national level boasting that hell yes they're coming for our guns. We have a system in NY where you have to spend hours and hundreds of dollars and perhaps wait a year to be able to shoot a pistol for crying out loud. We have the safe act abomination. As bad as all that is and all the hoops we jump through to try and comply, it can all be taken away by a mere lie or slander against us and we're guilty first and have to prove our innocence and hope our guns aren't destroyed first.
There is a lot of anger and frustration in this country on all political sides. The 2020 election cycle will be interesting.
I think looking at demographic trends and projections, I predict we will have significant civil unrest by 2024.

If all of this was caused due his levels of PTSD, it shows one more Vet that the VA has failed.
I am all about personal responsibility, I live for and I preach it, if he was seriously touched due to his situation, the VA should have assisted him better.
I know a fair amount about PTSD, I know many that are afflicted by this condition, it is not about just dealing with it.
I, like thousands of others, fight the battle every day.
I'd this guy is using this as an excuse for his actions and his behavior, I say fuck him.
If all of this was caused due his levels of PTSD, it shows one more Vet that the VA has failed.

Well he never once claimed that PTSD guided his actions. His claims were that his Blue Falcon told the cops that he had a Pmag and PTSD and that he planned to shoot it out with the cops. That’s all he said.
The cops on the other hand tell his neighbor to go into her basement because there was a potential suicide that may take place. Then they reported that a shot was fired in his house even though he had no guns and that was the reason for their response. Then they say that he had mental issues and that’s the reason for the response. Then after getting him, they say that he was a domestic abuser who violated a court order.
His account was consistent with no signs or claims of mental illness. The wishy washy police accounts on the other hand... Either straight up lies or mental illness.

Apparently yes one of the reasons I left
land was because I'm not a spring chicken anymore I figured what ever time I have left I wanted to at least enjoy it feeling like a free human being something I should have not waited for so long ! But PA is starting to get just like the prison I left Philly is opening up ejection site's for druggies WTF the establishment is as corrupt as land
