Sig P320 Fails Drop Test

Here is the issue
Sig P320 has a minor issue (as in easy inexpensive fix) that can (And has) have major safety concerns ie someone getting shot (thankfully the officer isn't dead)

But instead of Sig doing anything to fix the issue first thing they do is "nope fuck you all we are Sig, so high quality, nothing wrong with our gun, army loved, we make sooo much money, we are better than you"

Sig fan boys need to stop acting like Sig didn't do anything wrong,

Also I wonder if the two in the video 1) actually dropped the p320 they showed and (2) was it loaded? If not why
Oh and (3) I thought people don't plan on dropping their gun

I have a feeling that on Monday Sig will announce a full recall for the P320. If they do not, and they keep claiming nothing is wrong with the gun, then they are really screwing the pooch on this. I am a bit of a sig Fan boy too, but I will not be happy with anything less then a full recall. In the mean time, my p320 is out of rotation till it is fixed .

Haven't really researched it too much, just typed it in and BAM! something about voluntary recalls on GEN 4 19's. Brass to the face.. Nothing safety though.

Was just talking with my buddy and the topic of firearms came up. I knew he was a gun nut but didn't realize to what extent, nor did he know that I " dabble " as well.

He showed me his latest purchase, Sig 320 . Says he loves it! Very accurate.
I told him about the drop issue, he was not aware.

The grip did feel " plastic-y " though. More so than a XD9 but was comfortable.

We've gone over this. No interest in a DA/SA with manual safety. Plus there is just something about the way the P01 looks that appeals to me. I handled one and the ergros work for me too. Now that I have a little pistol trigger time under my belt it would be interesting to give a DA/SA a go again and compare it to the PPQ.

P01 is hammer fired. Alloy framed, hammer fired, old school but so very excellent. I belive you were thinking of the polymer/striker P10, while I'm sure it's an excellent pistol I doubt it's good enough to warrant owning it alongside a PPQ. You'd either have one or the other.

We should all go back to wheelguns for carry. Hell, I'll take it a step further and say we should all go back to carrying single action army revolvers. And those of you who know history will remember that contrary to Hollywood westerns most gunfighters carried only five rounds in their cylinders and left the first one on the empty chamber. Why? Because a too strong nudge on the hammer spur could cause the gun to go off.

Seems we've had problems like this the introduction of firearms.

Single Action Only Cowboy style revolvers I would agree with you on (especially those without a transfer bar). However, how many times have you hard about a modern revolver going off when dropped?

I prefer more more than 5 or 6 rounds, a recoil spring for faster follow up shots, and a more ergonomic grip.

Speedloaders and moonclips help with the lack of rounds and reloading. Aftermarket grips help a lot, though I personally never had much issue with most factory grips (my j-frame possibly being the exception).

I'm not fighting either. I'm just saying that revolvers are ergonomically inferior and their low capacity, 12 pound triggers and additional recoil regardless of the grip used which cannot stand next to a recoil spring are a no-go for me, police departments, and the military for those reasons. Sure they are reliable but so are well maintained auto loaders from reputable brands.

The slight increase in reliability does not trump all the other pluses auto loaders give you.

I think its myopic to exclude any particular action or type. Wether hammer, striker, polymer, alloy, steel, automatic or revolver they all have a role.
Revolvers role is for heavy and large magnum cartridges and in a small .38 form for small, deep concealment and/or contact shooting.

They ask for serial number and then personal information so they can send you a prepaid shipping label and instructions. This is the response I got after filling out their form:

No further action is required from you at this time.
You will receive an email from SIG SAUER at a later date that will include a prepaid shipping label and instructions to return your P320 pistol and any P320 caliber exchange kits that you have. It may take many weeks for you to receive this next communication, but we won’t forget about you (SIG will not begin the upgrade process for a few weeks as we prepare to make this upgrade). Once your P320 is shipped and received at SIG SAUER, the turnaround time will be approximately 4 – 6 weeks. This lengthy process is due to the high volume of pistols in the marketplace. Transit times may vary depending on your geographic location and receipt of your returned pistol. In the meantime, your SIG SAUER pistol is safe to carry and use as originally configured from the factory.

So I guess this means that I'll still be waiting a few weeks (months perhaps) before I get a label/instructions on how to send back my P320 as well as waiting an additional 4-6 weeks before I get my gun back.

I have several Sigs and like them all, even this obviously flawed P320 model. But I'm glad I have my Glock 43 as a carry gun.
