Hes a beauty.I'd pop that buck right from the doorway. I wouldn't even step outside.
His rack is pretty thin but long tines and its wide. His body is pretty big for this area.

Sorry, didn't mean to turn this into an ethical caliber thread. I just like picking on the Blackout.
Shot placement is king with any caliber. I mentioned one that we lost this year in a different thread. He was hit with a 30-06. Part of your duty as a hunter is to know what your rifle will do and stay within that box. 22-250 and 300 Blk are both capable deer killers. The ethics come from the hunter knowing and staying comfortably within the limitations.
@NY Leatherneck I've got a new 30 cal 125gr copper bullet coming that I'm excited about. It's specifically made for slower calibers. Cavity Back MKZ 125 grain 7.62/.308 - VIEW ORDER PAGE Initial reports of the .270 projectiles in this family are good. They're wicked expensive though.
Like a cat rubbin' on your leg - you just can't shoot them. So, I get home from deer hunting today and look whos waiting for me.
Not only is he stanfing 10 feet from my window, he proceeds to go out front and rub his stupid antlers on my tree. Dirty SOB.
I told myself im not shooting the tame yard deer, so ive been going way back on the property where apparently there are no deer. What a dilemma.

Point taken...for the record I'm not a 300blk can do it all fan boy. Actually I tend to switch guns year after year for hunting. I like to give them all field time. Lets just say I have more guns than time. Every caliber has a purpose thats why they were developed in the 1st place.Don't worry. I have the award for blackout hater of the year although I do not hate the caliber at all.
People who know me in person know that I love all calibers including airguns. Does it have a trigger? I like it. lol
The main issue with the whisper/blackout is not so much the caliber but the trolling from the rsilvers, the marketing gurus
and tacticool evangelists (Some banned in several forums) that have created a total confusion about this caliber.
I guess it can happen to any caliber but I think the blackout (whisper) is the first internet / social media caliber that
became popular more through marketing and fashion than through its own merits.
And there is a true application for it and also a huge coolness factor specially in subsonic world so I will never deny that.
I am just going to say that there are a good number of books one could read about ethical hunting and how to match
bullets to game and body weight, speeds, bullets and so on.
But perhaps due to the short attention span and busy life one should get a book from Nathan Forster (quick read) or at least
take a look at the knowledge base for game hunting and terminal ballistics...

If anyone is interested in learning more about ballistics let me know. I know some of you are sick of politics anyway.

Lol, I forgot my trail mix!You didn't take any granola bars with you? Gotta snack on your tree stand? j/k
Gotta go email my kid's teacher and see if he can take his math test tomorrow instead of Friday so we can head out to the woods!
Heres what he did to my tree!! Bastard
Him and a couple others are ALWAYS there, thats the problem. I can walk within 10 yards of them before they walk away, never run. I actually have a video of two bucks fighting where im 20 feet away talking to them. My dog is with me too. They have no fear of me or my dogs, it doesnt seem fair to kill them. Im not starving or anything, the sport of the hunt is why I hunt. Again, what a dilemma.Should have shot him when you had the chance
Looks like a serious bullet but yeah damn pricey and they are sold out too!!
About 8 years ago I heard some noise coming from our garage. It was dark out and I had to go into the open garage to turn on the light. As soon as I entered the dark garage, I was rushed by a doe who was in the garage. There was about three feet between the car and the wall where I was walking, something had to give. She came at me with her hooves in the air spinning like a lawnmower. I grabbed her by the neck and pushed her against the wall while I ducked around her. She ran out into the night. It happened really fast, I had little time to react.New sport - Buck Slapping! Slap ' em on the ass and see how far you can run before they pin you to a tree.
Not yet...passed on a 4ptr. No shot on a 6. hopefully something soon. Time is ticking.@NY Leatherneck did you ever find a deer
