Thanks to Prominus for having faith in me to drive 11 hours round trip to climb some of the biggest hills in NY to pick up what is the biggest, and heaviest, safe I've ever seen. I knew its dimensions but like they say, seeing is believing. NY is a little "safer" now thanks to him.

Never thought I'd even get close to filling it but getting damn close. I'll be upgrading the lighting a bit and seeing how the de-humidifer function works. Thanks again P.

I'll never understand buying inside the pants holster's.. I'll say I'm neither fat or skinny, I even lost 20lbs in the last 6 months.. But I have two kinds of jeans, the jeans I collect hoping to fit back into some day, and the jeans I wear now... BUT BOTH have no extra room for a gun inside the waist band.. any extra space is for beer and over eating.. So it's outside carry and cover with a untucked shirt for me..

Nice rig. I think that’s the one and only J frame that I don’t find to be ugly as hell. The boot grips add to it ascetics and I’m sure , conceal ability.

I don't have a problem. I just undo the button and let the belt out one notch. Covering garment does the rest. Without a gun regular fitting jeans and tucked in. (.380 Bodyguard in the pocket, even with slim fit jeans).

The biggest problem I see with IWB is the size of the holsters being marketed today. Most add double the size needed just for the gun. An ultra thin kydex is all that's needed.

This guy showed up in the mail today.
It's in better condition than I thought. Might have to weather it some. Will most likely refinish it with the Minwax color "Gunstock". I used Gunstock for my model 94 and love it. I'm wondering how much modifying it will need to fit my 500? Guess we'll find out. Going to try fitting it before I do any refinishing.

It's from another 500, but Not sure of what vintage. Mine was bought new right after the safe act so 2013 and has the double slide arms.

I will. Not sure if I will start this project just yet. Right now my mind is on my trip out west next week. @Sixbennetts I emailed Gene at Blackgunswood to see if he sells rejects or unfinished or like 80% finished A2 grips. We'll see if I hear back. Kind of wishing I had a band saw and some other wood working tools because I think I could fabricate my own from scratch.

Vintage L.E. Wilson Case trimmer. Still trying to figure it out. My only gripe is that with the case gauges you can only trim the case to the SAAMI max length. Not a big deal, but all the loads I've been doing have been using shorter case lengths. But I think this is going to be alot more precise! I've been using the Lee cutter (the one with the pilot, and drill attachment) and it was starting to cut cases uneven.

Edit: realized the gauge I have is not the one used to hold the case for trimming

He's a helluva nice guy, he'll get back to you. If not, give him a call.

The difficulty *for me carving my own is the bad wing. That's why I needed something pre-machined where it joins the adapter, (or AR lower). Drilling the hole scared me, too.

I did a little mock-up of a Thompson style AR grip as well. If you get a finger groove grip from Gene, it would only take a little trimming and rounding to work.

He got back to me this morning. I just emailed him back. I think I am going to go with an A1 style grip he says they have and just do one that is unstained but sanded and ready, assuming they have one.

Cool. What adapter and brace are you going with? Remember to keep your LOP under 13½", or ATF may view it as a shoulder stock. @ me when you start your thread. I don't wanna miss it!

*edit Now that I see you're building from a full size 500 and not a 14" barrel Shockwave, disregard my LOP comment above. I'll leave it, though. Future searchers may seek it.

I forgot to mention I got the call from my FFL the other day, his distributor has the Ruger PC carbine model#19116 (the NY legal Mlok version) in stock. So he placed the order. Sounds like I will have something to look forward to when coming home to NY. That will definitely soften the blow of coming back to reality after my trip to free America.
