Taiwan's Foreign Minister warns his nation is preparing for war with China and urges Australia to increase intelligence sharing and security cooperation as Beijing intensifies a campaign of military intimidation.
Dozens of aircraft from the People's Liberation Army (PLA) have flown sorties into Taiwan's Air Defence Identification Zone (ADIZ) since Friday, prompting the self-ruled island to scramble its own military jets.
Speaking to the ABC's China Tonight program, Taiwan's Foreign Minister Joseph Wu declared that if the PLA were to launch an actual strike, his democratic state would be ready to repel it.
Defence analyst Professor Clinton Fernandes from the University of New South Wales warns it would be difficult for the US and allies to prevent any invasion attempt by China.

The state owned Bank of China controlled and funded 80% of BHR.
In 2015, the fund played a key role in securing the sale of Henniges Automotive to the Aviation Industry Corporation of China, AVIC.

What's AVIC? Big Chinese military contractor making stuff like bombers, drones, and stealth fighters.
What's Henniges? A company in Michigan that's the world leader in anti-vibration technologies used in the automotive industry that also has military applications like stealth fighters.

The year before BHR joined with AVIC, the Wall Street Journal reported that AVIC had stolen technologies related to the US F-35 stealth fighter and incorporated them in their own stealth fighter, the J-31. AVIC has also been accused of stealing US drone systems and using them to produce their own.
How was AVIC able to buy Henniges in 2015? Who went to visit China in 2013 to help establish the fund? Who was the U.S. president and VP in 2015?

China is asshole but genius. They have literally co-opted our institutions against us to be their propoganda machines to shape public opinion in their favor.

They're going to move on Taiwan. Xipoohbear wants it as his legacy.

They're spending a lot of energy and resources to create a cause and support amongst the civilians to back the party and accept "reunification" almost as their manifest destiny or an obligation.


China lately keeps upping their provocation to the point they are wearing down Taiwan and making them complacent. Air defense zone incursions are so common that Taiwan doesn't even send up interceptors to identify and shadow china's forces any more. Each incursion sends a larger force of Chinese planes. Just due to the close location and proximity sooner or later 150 planes will be in the 1st strike wave and before Taiwan realizes "oh shit this is real" it will be a matter of mere moments until bombs and missiles and ballistic missiles are all destroying their air power and anti air capabilities. China is setting the stage to one day (perhaps in near future) to sneak attack pearl harbor Taiwan.

And as very astute posters here have already noticed.... You think the semi conductor shortage is bad now? Yikes. Just wait.
Chins would have an obscene economic advantage in ways we can't comprehend yet.



I know a guy who's daughter is in Taiwan as an English teacher. I suggested maybe she should get out of there and take a semester off or long vacation back home here. He wasn't concerned.... Sigh ....

Maybe if we'd poked our head in when the Austrian running Germany decided he owned a chunk of Poland instead of waiting, we could have saved a whole lot of heartache.

The Taiwan thing is essentially the Chinese Civil war heating back up. We very much favor one side vs the other in that.

It is very much like Kim Jong deciding he is tired of those southerners acting like they aren't under his rule.

One China vs one Korea.
