I had a boss back in the 1990's that was a stereotypical liberal who thought this country had no redeeming qualities (racist, sexist, etc). We would frequently discuss politics. Fortunately we were both able to keep it civil despite our obvious differences. I always used the line about the flow of people as my trump card. I remember asking him why are so many Hispanics coming to this country if it is such a racist hell-hole. He never had an answer but of course he never changed his mind.No matter how much propaganda they cite, the left can never answer one simple question.
If collectivism is so much better, why do communists have to build walls to keep people in, and capitalists have to build them to keep people out.
Nobody was risking their lives on a hot air balloon built from shower curtains to escape West to East Berlin.
Nobody crosses open ocean in a boat made from an old Studebaker to escape from Florida to Cuba.
In the handful of examples of people who did make that trip, the capitalist answer was usually "good riddance".
The communists knew if they let people make their own mind up, they wouldn't have enough productive citizens left to sustain an economy.
