Were they able to display and sell guns? Well attended? I'm stuck and Rochester otherwise would have gone to see how recent law changes affected attendance and product showing.
Looked like the exact same tables. Everyone was buying and selling everthing the same as last time. Guns, ammo and other wares. No changes.

Only difference was I had to write my name address and occupation when buying ammo. One guy took a picture of my permit for that.

It was all I could do to not put some stupid fake name like Ben Dover or something. Good thing I didn’t tho. The vendor knew who I was because of my occupation and I work in the town where their shop is. Didn’t know that when I was filling out the form until we got to talking and he commented on my job.

So I went to the Syracuse gun show today but noticed a big change right off the bat. No f$%kin shuttle bus service! I usually wouldn't mind the walk but today I have a decent hangover, and my friend Arthritis is in overdrive. I'd love to go next week to see what show the fair is hosting and if they have busses.
I made record time searching the tables and only focused on a few guns that I wanted and stayed away from other impulse buys. I think I made a complete lap of the tables in under 30 minutes then went to get a bottle of water but the lines were to the door, so I left. No new gun, no water, and still had a hangover and took the quarter mile walk of shame back to my truck.
Came home and we were out of drinking water. I gave up and took a nap. Woke up, ordered pizza n wings, stopped for water, then came home and hit the buy it now button on a new rifle on G-broker.

I went to Syracuse on Sunday. Prices were crazy, I don't know how vendors can pay for transportation and tables and their time as I did not see many purchases happening or people walking around with an obvious newly acquired firearm. Ammo was a mixed bag, mostly too high priced with a few reasonable (for this day and age) prices mixed in. There actually were primers available, but they were ridiculously priced (100 to 130 per 1000, shotgun were 70). I use certain types of guns as benchmarks for prices for my own entertainment. For example, a Ruger PCC in 9mm, when they first came out retailed for about 500. At the show there was a weird mix, a few at 600 (which seems borderline reasonable today) and a bunch for more, 700,800, even 900 bucks. Moisins were 400 and up, including one for 1200 that I almost fell over looking at the price. Enfields were pricey too...600, 700 which is crazy. There were some really interesting ones at a table which were unissued Mark 4s dropped to the French resistance in WWII and stored afterwards by the government, but he wanted 969 for them. Garands were minimum 1200 for beat to shit ones,any decent ones were much higher. New rifles like Tikkas were 800 to 1200 which is also too high in my opinion. I'm not sure if there were any deals or bargains on Saturday that were long gone by the time I made it there Sunday but I tend to doubt it. I came home with what I always do from a gun show...pickles.

I agree 100% . I usually always go on Sundays because vendors are more receptive to making a deal , or at least open to a reasonable offer. Not this year, all I heard was “ that’s what they’re going for on line”. Then why the fuck bother spending the time and money setting up your wares at a gun show.
By the way you should check out the pickle vendor at the farmers market at the regional market ctr. That guy has an amazing selection of pickles . LoL
Oh, as an addendum, since the onondaga county sheriff's department is there I figured I would go and get the ridiculous "semiautomatic" annotation on my license. Instead I got an angry lecture from a sheriff about how my "license was out of date " and I had to arrange an appointment to get an updated new plastic card. I confirmed with him that if I even wanted to buy a pistol they would not and could not accommodate putting it on my license there. He was unfortunately really obnoxious, telling me like an idiot that this information is all over their website and has been for 3 or 4 years. I've been on their site and never saw that my license type had to be updated. I didn't want to get into a pissing contest with him so I just passed it off as he had too many people asking him things for 2 days and his fuse was short. Not the department's best interaction with me

One last post, my buddy did buy a little ammo and had to provide drivers license and occupation for a handwritten log the big vendor was keeping, with name, address, license number and occupation all entered and I think what was purchased (not sure of this last, I lost interest because it took so long). Vendor was from out of state too. Also, the most ridiculous priced type of rifle at the show were SKS. I saw a Yugo in nice shape that a few years back people were getting crates of 10 and selling them for 100....now for 1200!!! (with grenade launcher like that was special or relevant). I think the LOWEST priced SKS I saw was 700 and the rest were more. Unbelievable.

My BIL just had to go through this very thing with his Onondaga Cnty. Paper PP . Not justify the sheriffs shitty attitude but he was right. The info. For replacing your old Paper and original first plastic PP card is on the Pistol Permit info. Site. It isn’t however front and center. You have to search for it.

I just got back from the Rochester show. Plenty of dealers, but the place was a ghost town. Hardly anyone in the aisles.
A dealer told me it was a lack of advertising.

Selection was OK. Many of the same dealers that you see at the larger gun shows.

Just came back from the Rochester Gun Show. You could have thrown a bowling ball down the aisles and hit no one. Prices up. I guess the dealers never heard of the Internet. Bought some raffle tickets. No Monroe County Clerk per Adam Bello. No advertisement. Even WHAM would not take advertisement. Very disappointing. The times they are changing. I guess they fixed the “gun show loophole”

What can't we buy at the show? I was there and all the normal stuff that we are "allowed" to have in NY was there, only stopping people from buying was the prices. I did find some good deals on hand guns like a Colt 1911 officers for $500. but I wasn't there for that.

Yeah it was definately a bit slower at the dome this year. the Larger ammo guy was selling alot of ammo. saw a guy buying like 3 cases of something!!!!! I DID NOT LIKE giving my DL and Personal Info though!!!!! I found some of the 30-30 I was looking for but was not paying 60 bucks a box...I think the cheapest I saw it was 40 or 45 still too rich for me. but yeah less vendors and even though Im from Ontario Cty did not like see my brethen from Monroe County getting screwed with no Cty Clerk there. that was disapointing. The only way I saw it was from looking at the NY gun show sight or I would not have known about it!

If you don’t have a rifle licenses you can’t buy one of them. Also sounded like the county wasn’t there to add pistols so then you’re left with a shotgun and maybe some ammo. Also now you’re tracked with your CC. No thanks. I’m not sure I’ll go to a gun show again. I wasn’t too fond of them anyway since the cost of most things there is outrageous. If the economy gets bad enough I’ll visit to try to find a deal, but the one buy me usually has no deals. Even ammo is outrageous.
