Answer..... No, there was never a sovereign, independent country with the name Palestine. The wording Palestine came into use after the Romans put down the second uprising of the Israelites in 135 AD and renamed their province Yehuda into Syria Palestina.

There is also a standing Ukrainian ban on any negotiations with Russia enacted by Zelensky. Therefore any agreement signed by Zelensky is not legally binding. Especially in light of past agreements that were routinely ignored by Ukraine and NATO.
Putin agreed to negotiate an agreement with the U.S. (NATO) directly and will allow Ukrainian representatives to participate.

Freezing of the conflict is not going to happen. Russia is winning and will only end the war when Ukraine or what is left of it is no longer a hostile state. Fair position considering the price Russia paid.

None of them called Palestinians though.

More recently, when the Brits owned the whole area they called it the British mandate for Palestine, but that was mostly what we call Jordan now.

The whole region has been called Palestine for a long time, but there was never a Palestinian people until the 1950s. None of the cities were built by anyone who called themselves Palestinians, or anyone the current Palestinians can trace a cultural lineage to.

The city of Gaza has been around for 4000 years, but no Palestinians lived there, or anywhere else until the second half of the 20th century.

The whole area has been inhabited by a long series of different tribes and cultural groups, but to say they're "Palestinian" would be like me claiming the Navajo are "my people" because we're both Arizonans, despite the fact that they've been here 1000 years, and I've been here 4, and there is no distinct "Arizonan" culture anyway.

I visit this thread frequently. I also watch the Military Summary Channel nightly and what I see there is the Red side of the map getting bigger and the Yellow side getting smaller. This will continue until somebody puts a bullet in to Zelensky's head, IMO. No need for me to comment about it. Just the way it is and will continue to be.

Often times in the Bible it's referred to as the land of the Canan or of Moab before Moses brings the people to the promise land. Israel is then at one point broken up into Judah and Israel. I can't remember if the Bible even mentions it at Palestine ,but I don't think so. Honestly I don't have a stake in the argument, this is more of a musing.


I'll be honest though. If Hamas came to my homeland and did things like that October attack, I'd consider bringing back the old Testament ways if you know what I mean.
