I'm hesitant to believe , but I'd be interested to see results. If the info-graphic had said 7.62x39 then I might buy it.. but 7.62x51.. not so much.
A long while back, (way before unSAFE) I had a friend who worked for the CSX rail company and he would get these big steel ..rail ties ? I'm not certain what they were, but big steel plates. We hung them up at near ground level from the top so they could swing and deflect downward.
The 5.56 (from AR type) , no problem just moved the plate and did no damage. The 7.62x39 (From AKM type) , damaged them up pretty bad with chips and threw a lot of crap back toward the shooter. The 7.62x51 (from FAL type) .. went straight through.
Those plates were pretty tough and I'd have a hard time thinking cookware could do better. Somebody prove me wrong.. please ?

It's kind of far for me but if you did it with a .230 gr and a 185gr+P, I'd take your word on the results. Pictures or video would be better though.
I don't have any factory rounds for the 45 but maybe I will grab some.

Well that works now to find a cast iron pan to shoot. I have a Dutch oven lid if that works.

I honestly think the 185+P will do it. They are over 1000 fps and that guy used Walmart crap 9mm at about the same velocity.

The 185 might. I think I the 165 will for sure. It's 1200 fps I think. I also thing the 255 will do it.

Only complaint is that it's a bit heavy to carry in the warmer months - but when I run out of ammo, I can still beat the bad guy to death with it.

I'm not sure if you are aware and I'm not trying to be an asshole know it all but that Hornady Critical Duty is not designed for such a short barrel. It is designed for Full Sized Duty Pistols. That short barrel doesn't have the velocity needed to expand the bullet. The Critical Defense however is designed for short barrels and perrforms flawlessly.
Watch what happens in the first video when shot from a short barrel.

Ammo selection is just as important as the gun itself. With those Critical Duties from a short barrel, you might as well carry ball ammo.

I think my 239 barrel is 3.7. The video was 3 inch tube. Not sure what difference that makes but it might help.

Why take the chance when there's ammo out there that performs outstanding in barrels under 4 inches?

Smith and Wesson M&P Shield 9. Been on my hip for about 2 1/2 years. I've added Talon Grips, Tru Glo night sites, and the Apex Duty Trigger kit. Great little shooter, light weight, conceals beautifully under just about anything.

I just ordered a 9mm Springfield Armory XDS 3.3" to go along with my Beretta 9mm Cougar. The Cougar is just a little big in some circumstances so I'm anticipating that the XDS will get the primary duty. Now I just have to wait to add it to my permit. Hope it doesn't take tool long.

I just bought and xd 9 mm. Nice gun. I did not like the xds trigger and the single stacks are too thin griped for me, but I like the way the xds fit my hands. I will probably get the xdm 3.8 compact next for a winter carry gun. Or a nice 1911 to play with. Or just buy more ammo. Tough life decisions.
