I don't know what to say anymore. I'm not a native of New York and I can definitely see a difference in what people are willing to tolerate between a free state and a state like New York State.

I was born and raised in South Carolina and I lived in Arizona for three years before I came to New York. I have personally lived and seen that there is a big difference in an overall citizen's thought pattern between different regions of our country. And that's why, oh fuck it why do I bother anymore.

I just need to get the fuck out of commie New York.

At this point, I do not think that in general New York gun owners have a line in the sand. The term pussy whipped comes to mind. I will never ever go through a BGC to simply buy ammo, no fucking way. I'm not playing along, there are other legal options to be used, for now.

Also, republicans are not your friends. They voted for funding the Safe Act so you should not hold any trust in them when in comes to the second amendment.

I'm actually wondering how the state will get more out of a background check than what a NICS check would give. As I understand it, they still go through the FBI. If the relevant sources do not give the FBI information (hint hint- just like about every mass shooting suspect has been "watched" but not reported.), why does the state think that they would get that information? If they do give that information to the FBI, than a NICS check would work, and the person would be denied.

I can tell yah this, no such thing exists on I-81 into Broome county.


There are a lot of back roads and back ways too. It would be impossible for them to have every back road checked. They literally don't have the man power.

They need probable cause to stop and search. Just seeing ammo isn’t illegal so no reason to stop and search. Drive legally and you will be fine.

About which part? A friend went to PA yesterday and could buy all the ammo he wanted but not one of the gun shops would sell him a long gun. So yes, I'd say I'm sure because I got first hand info from a very reliable source.

Doesn’t mean it’s a law. Also what long guns was he trying to buy? Legally speaking you can purchase a long gun not in your home state of its legal in your home state. An FFL can refuse to sell a gun to anyone at anytime so your first hand knowledge means nothing legally speaking. They can sell you any long gun as long as it’s not semi auto or an assault weapon. Semi auto is fine if you have the endorsement and not an AW.

The purpose I believe, is to make it more difficult and annoying for legal gun owners to purchase ammunition. And as a fringe benefit, if you do concede they get you bubbled up into an "active ammunition buyer" database AND a sweet tax to boot.

Long as I've been in the game, the bullshit NY is and has done against gun owners is mostly an inconvenience to me. The travel bans of covid did hamper my out of state excursions, but that ship has returned to port... I expect there's a half percent of the population that should legitimately should be prohibited and filtered out via checks, but those same people WILL get what they want through other channels, same as they have ALWAYS DONE, the Legislature knows this and knows the non-gun AND Anti-gun people will think this all perfectly fine, which will work to their re-election benefit, which ultimately is what its all about... when the total collapse happens and it becomes open season for candidates, you should know the players.

He was just told they couldn't sell to NY residents. PA does have a state run background check system, maybe that has something to do with it.
