Several years back I stopped at a Gun Shop in Ohio (along I-90 I believe) and they had a very clear sign that they DO NOT SELL GUNS (maybe ammunition too?) TO NEW YORK RESIDENTS. Pretty well gave them the FOAD and left... besides, I was already loaded heavy from Knob Creek.Doesn’t mean it’s a law. Also what long guns was he trying to buy? Legally speaking you can purchase a long gun not in your home state of its legal in your home state. An FFL can refuse to sell a gun to anyone at anytime so your first hand knowledge means nothing legally speaking. They can sell you any long gun as long as it’s not semi auto or an assault weapon. Semi auto is fine if you have the endorsement and not an AW.
