  • Holy crap! Been running like a madman! Started from Harrisburg PA to southern WI then to Portland now back to Idaho and onto 'Bama baby!
Just finished a 2100 mi trip to Portland OR from Mazonomie WI. Made a shit ton of money off this one.

For the trip? 3.5 days. I am required by federal law to drive no more than 11 hours before getting 10 consecutive hours rest. So 11 hours a day basically, and my truck is limited to 62mph. 620 miles per day is about the best I can manage. My best day on this trip was 615 miles, the shortest full day was 538. Today, the half day, I drove 388 miles for the final leg.

Just looking forward to pounding out Albany to Key Largo again in one shot in a few weeks. 26 hours around the clock. 3 drivers at least. My trip doesn't pay quite as well monetarily though. :(

Yes, I reckon I made $970 on this trip, before taxes though.
I'd take a vacay in Key Largo over a freight run to Portland though.

Your big ass is. Meet me in Cheyenne WY on Sunday. You can be my emergency food supply/tire chains bitch.
Dear God! I knew those breakfast sausage dogs were a bad idea but I had no idea it would be this bad! I'm crapping lava over here!
I am getting pretty good with my little ol shield. Now have absolute confidence to 15 yards. Out to 25 as well but not in pretty groups

Absolutely nothing, but I will be getting Heinie straight 8 sights for it. I am also seriously considering getting the full Apex upgrade kit for it. May also get some Talon grips as the Shield moves around in my hand a fair bit.

I noticed that too, put the Talon grip on mine. Wanted the rubber one, but actually ended up getting the other kind, feels like sandpaper. Once I conditioned it, it feels great. If you upgrade the sights or Apex it, I'd love to check it out, compare. Definitely want sights at the very least. TBH, I just want an M&P Performance Shield.

I think rubber anything on a carry gun is a bad idea. Too much chance it will catch on clothing and hinder the draw or cause printing. By the same toKen I don't like the slots cut into the slide of the performance center version, ingress of lint and whatnot. And I'd prefer night sights over fiber optics for a defensive gun.

Ah, home sweet home. I am now free to exercise my basic human right of defense....... for four days, then back to the defenseless gulags.
By the grace of God I managed to find legal parking with a one minute left on the clock! My Dispatch done fucked me on this run.

Oh it's all good now, but I was facing running out of drive time along I95 north through DC area at 0300. I was very worried about not being able to find parking. Plus I missed an important function at the terminal.

Safety meeting? I remember you used to get bonus points for attending them. I sure don't miss driving thru DC.
Holy cow! I survived I 70 through the Rockies. Some folks weren't as lucky though.

Yup, had to. Through Vail pass and up to the Eisenhower tunnels. Some straight truck, having managed to make it up and down the mountain over cooked his brakes at the base headed into Denver and rolled it.
    Podmonkey
    Podmonkey
He came flying by me, brakes smoking like a volcano! Shut the highway down for an hour!

Yeah, you end up losing a lot of time going up and down those hills.
@Plater1, you ever run I 15 north outta San Bernardino to Colorado? How bad is that mountain stretch?
    Podmonkey

Y'know Crete. The make sure every truck has chains then they say "If you need chains why are you driving?" I'd still like to have some practical knowledge BEFORE I run into a "just in case" situation. Oh well. Looks like I'm gonna try to run it raw dog. Too bad I won't have time to stop in Vegas eh?

You can run I40 east to I25N right into Denver, the mileage is close. You will probably have to change you fuel stops but it's little easier.

I just might do that, thanks!
I'm headed deep into enemy territory on the 7th, California! Just outside of LA in fact, in an 18 wheeler......... ugh.

Weather, HA! It's 12º in Tucumcari right now. Good amount of snow all along I 40 too. But I'm a steely eyed polar bear trucker so I can deal.

Good Idea. I just might do that. I'L keep an eye on the weather and if it's sketchy along I 15 tomorrow morning I run I 25 up instead, thanks!
I love my niece and nephews to absolute bits but it seems everytime I visit I catch a bug off them, my throat huuuurts! Still worth it.
I saw a Donald Trump Chia Pet advertised........ seriously? There was an Obama one also, even weirder.

Aww, I really appreciate that, but I'll be down in Texas for most of that week. See how hard it is to nail down a trucker? I did get to have Thanksgiving this year so it's all good.

Yeah, the Christmas I spent in Korea was the most depressing I think. We had 4 days off and I don't think I was sober for a minute of it.
Enjoying a fine meatloaf dinner at one of my favorite spots, Shoemakers in Lincoln NE. Oh man, I had the pie too, I so full!!
