Only the fbi hrt uses a Springfield custom shop 1911. I’m not sure they use it anymore. The mk23 was not really well received. Are they still using it? I thought they hardly ever did in the past.

To be fair hand built doesn’t mean reliable. It Might even mean less reliable. I have and have had few hand built 1911’s. Some are great others are not. I would argue looser tolerances on a Ruger are many times more reliable than the hand built guns out of the box.

Waste of money. Issue them a Glock and allow them to buy the sti on their dime if they want one. For the “ what’s the big deal it’s not that many” crowd. When you add all the “not that expensives” up across all the gov. Our financial situation makes sense.

Serious question, does the fbi publish their test results? I doubt it.

I know exactly what gel is for. I just prefer to see how bullets perform with ribs and skin ect. Again YouTube gel tests are not scientific. Some dude shooting outside with gel blocks of different brands and consistency (at times) and under varying conditions (temp humidity ect) is not...

It’s a way better representation of how a bullet will perform on a living target. Most YouTube gel tests are far from scientific by the way.

The Paul Harrell meat target is a better test in my opinion than gel tests. Most high price ammo doesn’t perform better than the Walmart stuff.

I think it’s impressive. Also the core going over 18. It’s like a fmj that has nasty little fragments.

It did better than I thought it would. Over 18 inches for core (about 80 grains). 9-10 inches for fragments spreading out 6-8 inches.

I bought a few boxes of this at Walmart. Shot clean and was light on recoil. It was cheap so I bought it just to see how clean it was.

It was an hour and a half meeting. Just saying....
