....but five tip ups....more hook points than you you can count...
I once had a DEC cop try to ticket me. Some guy within spitting distance had put his rod down and walked away. The cop came by, asked about the rod, I said not mine and I don't know whose rod that is. I believe I had two rods...
I was at a an outdoor flea market last weekend and saw a aluminum scuba tank for sale. I didn't check the asking price. I guess these can be used to fill a pcp rifle, but I wouldn't have any idea where you would get it filled. Besides, I think your supposed to be a certified diver to get you...
Made a pellet stop...thanks to Youtube... out of a tote filled with rubber mulch, cheap. Bought a Hawke scope, and a Diana Zero Recoil scope mount, not cheap. I still have to put everything together, so nothing to report. And now I've learned of the artillery hold as a way to mitigate the...
We drove out to Sherrill Manufacturing a couple of years ago.. "It is the only flatware (metal cutlery and tableware) maker that manufactures its products in the United States of America." Oneida LTD roots.
Bought all new stuff, nice.
Yes it does, lacquer thinner as well, but maybe a bit more slowly, and both are flammable. Cheapo lacquer removes pretty easily though. Actually, I think lacquer thinner may have acetone in it.
I have no experience with PCP rifles, although the Marauder did catch my eye...especially because they could be ordered up with custom stuff, way cool. There's just too much expense with tanks and compressors and such. The Beeman is one easy pump and done. Noooo air pumps!
Just some springer scope info to add. I contacted some scope manufacturers about "springer" rated air rifle scopes. Bushnell has none, Leupold, Vortex and Clearidge say all their scopes are built to withstand springer recoil.
What's with all the mildot reticles? And now everything has a 50mm...
There are so many rifles and choices, but the Beeman is a simple, well considered, and well made timeless shooter.
I emailed Leupold about their scopes and springer air rifles. Their response: "All of our scopes are tested to withstand this type of recoil, more so beyond that!" I also...
Amen.
I was just reading some more on things that are glued together inside a scope....way more than reticles. it seems. Cheap scopes have internals that pressed together. It's been said about scopes, you get what you pay for. But I have several Simmons scopes on 22s and all have been great...
I had my stimulus coin stashed away, and then some free money from an inheritance of sorts, I was actually waiting to purchase a CZ 22. But nothing in stock, stupid prices...you know.
So shopped for an air rifle. The choices are fantastic, ammo dirt cheap, super accurate, low noise, and tons...
Years ago we had bunnies and chucks galore. Then came the fishers, bobcats, bears too actually. And now this year the critter populations seem to be back up. Maybe just the cycle of things. Coyotes are part of the landscape.
Yeah, who knows. Then there's the notion that 30mm tubes are inherently stronger...more resistant...to springer recoil than 1in tubes.
So we have: etched reticles, compact size, 30mm tube, I guess matte black in color, must have AO, and IR, Mil dot....
We're narrowing down the specs.
I though...
I ordered up a UTG adapter that has a rail. It also features scope stop pins. One pearl of internet wisdom...go with a compact scope for break barrel rifles.
As others have mentioned, I too carry a P3AT. I've had it for years, and it has never failed to go bang. Being that I can't leave anything alone and am compulsive when it comes to tweaking things, I've spent stupid money on it. But it was inexpensive to begin with...last mod was the sight...
I am looking at scopes and mounts. Conventional wisdom calls for a one piece mount/rings to mitigate shock to the scope, and an inexpensive scope with a lifetime warranty so that you can replace the scopes you will wreck. Hmm.
Hawke scopes seem to show well, as does the UTG line. Does Nikon...
Yep, a Beeman R9 in 177. Whole new ball game for me...got it for mostly paper punching. It was delivered yesterday and it's a beauty. As I understand, these "springer" rifles are really hard on optics, even those scopes that are springer rated. And similar to rimfires, they can be fussy...
Where was it, not very long ago, an cop AR went missing? Queensbury, Warrensburg, I forget...wait, it was along Rt. 9 someplace?
Anybody hear anything?
It has been my understanding that the prohibition of loaded firearms in a vehicle had to do with transportation. We all know that there is no jacking from a vehicle...per ECL.
Interesting. I think I'll give the old judge's office a call and ask about the truck bed angle.
Red wing blackbirds are here, must be spring.
My local range has a less than optimized layout, and one way to work around it would be a bench in the bed of my pickup. Might be good when shooting on state land too...even on my own property.
Anybody do this? There are several commercial...
Choices are endless. Like many of us, over time the rifle rack fills up with all kinds of stuff. I still use a slug gun. With the field barrel and choke tubes all my needs are met, be they birds, big or small game...versatile and affordable, although sabot slugs are stupid money.
Then I got...
The signals I learned were for mostly for moving vehicles and operating wreckers. I taught the wife several and that has been very useful over the years.
My local guy takes stuff on consignment...we've both done well, I got my price and he made his money. My third consignment sale is there right now. True it takes some time, but the racks are mostly empty and stock is unavailable. It is a sellers market, and I'm the seller.
