So here it is, my range toy. I put the Harris on temporarily to sight it in.
RRA rifles are supposed to be 3/4MOA at 100yards, I wonder if it applies to complete uppers. This is my first 10rd group, 2 1/2 inches at 100. Managed to shrink it to 2inches last weekend. Maybe shrink it a bit...
Found this old thread, mostly about prepping but still relevant to a plinkster like me

And all those youtube videos saying you should get a 223rifle 12ga shotgun 9mmpistol because they’re plentiful, most common rounds...pre-corona, those were the days
I’ll give pass to the mother, just because she’s a mother. She’ll say ANYTHING.
Everyone else who thinks like think like this should have their homes burglarized
Thing is, thats’s all I do with rifles. I always thought i have the shotgun “in case” and my rifles are just range toys.. I’m starting to see the light...so late in the game
I’m surprised about the 6.5s, you’d think that it’s the hot thing in long range...but then long range guys tend to reload and they’re not “home defense” rounds. Those with well rounded and well stocked inventories have their I-told-you-so hats on at a nice angle right about now
This “cycle” might be different from the past ones, a virus-unrest-preelection trifecta...but those that have been through something like this before: How long did ammo stocks go back to “normal”?
I’m new to ARs myself and I just follow how I just follow how I see people do it:
like this?

Ideas like this have a place in the world. I think this the only post where a majority in the forum can agree on, forget our differences for a while...and laugh.
Just the classroom part. There are guys like me who grew up without a hunting tradition in the family. No weekend class is going to help me get started in hunting I think.
alrightalrightalright Part 3
..or alternate title, "How I spent 100$+ more than I needed to"
Three weeks ago, I couldn't find a lower parts kit in stock anywhere online. I had to get a AR Stoner kit w/ a separate enhanced trigger from Midway, a rifle buffer and their "Retro A1 stock" from...
This will be a lengthy one so if you just clicked for the final build photos, sorry to disappoint, check back in here next week.
First up, how’s everybody? I hit a few life speed bumps even before the ‘rona and I haven’t been able to shoot at all. This build was meant to be a side project...
Thanks for all the input. I seriously underestimated how hard 168gr hit.
@96coal449 No welding skills, no friend who does. It’s one skill I’ve wanted to learn though
Carriage bolt head sheared off after 1 shot (not a direct hit). Are there any classes/types of bolts that are better suited for hanging steel targets?
I’m considering those hook type hangers available in amazon. Federal SMK 308 at 200yards, fyi.
Got to shoot after work at Coxsackie today, almost no wind.

Best of 3 tries, 97/1x (hit at left side of the paper was a sighter on an adjacent target)
I'll try again tomorrow...

Sheepdog is right at the northern end of “F” and just south of “G”. Steel targets out to 1k. They’re a bit $$ though...just an idea for a place since a lot of F/K G votes
@nortatoga I was skimming through the rimfire central Kimber sub forum, lots of good info.
I got lucky when I saw this for sale. Still had the yellow preservative coating on most of its parts.
Not implying..poking fun at a seemingly offhand comment. I’m sure it’ll shoot fine even if I never found out but my OCD will itch so bad....what.was.that.thing???hahaha
THANKS!
I didn’t recognize it because I was expecting a different part. Manual diagram shows a one piece trigger guard plate. It doesn’t look broken, it must be a two-piece plate?maybe?
I’m hoping somebody has this rifle and can help out.
I took the barreled action off of the stock when heard a “ping”. It’s not in the schematic diagram in the owners manual.
I thought I’d post here before I have to register at rimfire central just to ask this.
I’ve been looking through the old posts and I have to say that this is the setup I’d like to have, upstairs and out next a window in the sunshine instead of a basement in a mancave hahah
I'm still on a high from this weekend. I got a $34 4x32 Simmons rimfire scope from Amazon a few days before the event, started Saturday w/ it not zeroed, rings slipped the rail w/c I noticed only when I was cleaning my 10/22 that evening. I put a dab of super glue at the ring mount + rail...
