Yeah from what I've read the best application for Thermal is as a scanning tool. If money was no concern I'd have a $3k Thermal to scan and a gen3 NV mounted to the rifle for taking the shot. But....since I'm not not dropping $6K I really like the simplicity and reliability of the Photon XT not...

Hey guys, looking for some advice from anyone with knowledge/experience in the realm of night vision rifle scopes. I've been doing a lot of research on these and there seems to be a lack of reliable/useful information on these things. What's the best NV rifle scope for under $1500?
It's more of a timing thing. I would like to be able to drive down and handle the rifle to make sure that I like it then bring it home with me so that I have time to work up some loads for a woodchuck tournament next wkend.

Set your depth at 20 thou off the lands and find your optimal charge weight. After finding optimal charge weight if your not content with the accuracy you're seeing you can start to play with other variables like seating depth, different primers, powders etc....
