Many years ago I bought a used BLR in 308. It was scoped and had a hammer extension. Great set-up for woods hunting...took a big bodied buck with it up in Hamilton County. I sold it and have been kicking myself in the ass since.
There's a Belgium bulit one for sale here in the...
Wow, those pipes are beautiful. And I have heard of leather dye used to color wood, never used it myself though. I've a few pipes, but I still prefer my Perdomo 'gars.
Making the existing finish darker can be a quick and dirty, and easy thing. Sprays will do it with little prep.
Completely refinishing is another matter.
As I understand, the "trench" gun replica that you speak of, if based on the original Winchester, has the beech wood stock, the original...
When I worked at DOT, the agency didn't "take" property for transportation projects; it "acquired" it and paid market value. I held my nose a lot when worked for them...
Confiscation without compensation and police powers. Interesting story I read this morning regarding bump stocks and whether the federal government actually has police powers. No, not surgical masks, but some commonality to ponder. As we know, some say guns are a health issue....
If you strip it down to bare wood, and it is beech, and it was me, I would use a coat of 50:50 mix denatured alcohol and shellac and then color with a dye. I believe beech is one of those woods that doesn't take stain evenly, so the sealer coat helps with that. Tung has the edge over linseed...
Novelty? That's a new term for me when it comes to firearms...but I guess that would be accurate. Some of those little things can be a bit pricey though. Cool!
Didn't FUAC shut down Remington? Huge hit to the Herkimer County economy. I hope those folks get back to work Monday. The wife and I had just visited the museum shortly before the crap started...some wonderful craftsmanship on display there.
Or am I confused with the bankruptcy stuff?
I hate this! Now every day there's gonna be photo of something that will empty my wallet. Have you no mercy? Will I be the only victim here? How long will this go on?
Can't wait, looking forward...bored to death at home!
I find goat meat to be delicious. And I understand goat milk is an option for those who are lactose intolerant...some make soap from it too. And every once in awhile the news reports somebody starting up a lawn mowing business...with goats. Good grief.
They are some crazy.
FUAC. As mentioned abov, Mr. HUD secretary, housing loans, market bust. Gov. alter boy, baby killer. We're not what New Yorkers are.
Fuck this guy.
And watch the media. It will drool over this should it come to pass. And as I'm fond of saying, think of the stupidest thing that could...
The thread is alive....
Many good points made. In the end I went with a dry tumbler...recent purchase, the price was right. I've not actually used the thing yet, but I'll be placing it outside the garage/love dungeon door when I do.
We saw Blue Man Group at Proctors in Schdy several years ago. Very entertaining indeed. I don't even trust my wife with kitchen knives....Band Aid stockholder....
I don't keep any animals, but I'm surrounded by neighbors that do...or try to. I can only say that the above comments ring true. I've actually had to get the law involved to get the critters off my property.
Most folks quit with the hogs. Plenty of goats still. You will never keep them in...
I've been toting my P3AT for years. And like any other gun nut I've spent way too much on springs, rods, triggers, and last year had sights installed and the slide got a resin finish. Money down a rat hole. But the little fucker goes bang, easy to break down, weighs nothing, and fits in every...
