Really? I always felt rifles were louder than shotgun. Shotgun rounds travel just over sound of speed but rifle rounds go like 2500fps. I always assumed they were louder.
Happened to be nothing.
But, realized using over and under 32 inch trap gun for home defense may be a little silly.
I know this topic is beaten to death.
In AR-15 illegal state we live in, can I safely assume
1) Semi-auto shotgun (ex. Benelli M4)
2) Pump action
3) <10 mag NY compliant AR-15...
I agree. But still the best looking semi-auto 5.56mm gun you can buy in NY. Comtemplated AR-15 platform. Can't swallow the look of NY compliant gun nor fixed mag headaches.
No guys. I think Fightlite SCR looks awesome.
I actually went to LGS to shoulder some rifles.
First of all, Thordsen AR-15. In real life, even more hideous. So no.
Mini-14. Kind of a disappointment. I was hoping for a M14 cool ass rifle, but it's kinda tiny and with all the comments about...
Some fixed mag ar-15 and featureless ak-47. The guy told me that only option for ar-15 featureless is thordsen stock which is hideous.
This is gonna be my first rifle lol. I want to make it worthwhile but ny laws make it tough man.
M&P®15 Sport™ II OR Fixed Stock CA Compliant | Smith & Wesson
Ruger® AR-556® Standard Autoloading Rifle Model 8513
Alright guys. Screw building new ar-15. I guess these are the best options for NY compliant AR-15 under 1k. If you guys have any other suggestions please let me know. What's better?
Before you read, if I said anything stupid, please understand as I am very new to guns and not the smartest guy.
Anyways, I thought about going for AR-15 route for my first rifle and I'd love to make it look like M16.
So, the SAFE ACT prevents me from getting telescoping/folding stocks...
Lol, I lived in nyc before and remember how much of a PITA it is to get a NY DL from fucking shithole called Bronx DMV. I'd hate to give up NY license lol.
Ok this looks acceptable. How should I go about getting this? Im really new to rifles and I dont know if I should build myself or just get the whole thing built.
God damnit. I actually liked mini 14 since it will be cheap to shoot and looked into it and seems like it isnt as good as ar-15. I just cant do thordsen stock guys. I see on some website about shark fin grip. This doesnt look as hideous. Is this legal???
Mosin is definitely a good suggestion. Very cheap price and a fun rifle I heard. My only problem is that I will get one used, obviously. I don't have any experience/wisdom to find a good condition one.
Budget is not a problem. I have another 12 gauge O/U and don't want too many guns in my...
So can you buy a gun as a NY resident and leave it in this gun storage without having a physical PA address?
I plan to buy pre-1986 automatic rifle. (I know I sound stupid, but I really mean it)
Honestly, it's not the money that matters. I have a good income. I just don't want to overwhelm myself with bunch of firearms and storage and etc. I've shot my friend's ruger 10/22 few times but it got old pretty quickly.
Guys, I cannot stress enough how I hate NY SAFE ACT.
As a NY resident, can I buy a place in somewhere in VT or PA and fulfill my firearm dream?
I own few shotguns (thanks to NY law not hating O/U shotgun) but always wanted to get a tactical rifle and getting around NY SAFE ACT is very frustrating.
Or, would simply buying fixed mag AR-15 the way to go? My friends are telling me to build one but I don't have the brain power for that. I wish I can simply buy Colt AR-15 and I heard I can buy a kit that can make it to have a fixed mag.
Thanks guys. Can you guys elaborate how Ares SCR is better than Mini-14. I'm really new to rifles.
Alos, I will probably have to let my Mossy 500 go to buy either of these rifles. Where do you recommended me to sell the gun. Does any FFL buy a used shotgun?
Hi guys,
I'm back again and I promise you that I'm not a troll.
I own few shotguns but never had a chance to own a rifle.
Looked into AR-15 but in NYS, i'm stuck with ugly featureless AR-15 or fixed magazine.
I'm looking for something good, reliable and fun to break my rifle cherry.
Any...
Hi guys,
I am a new member from Franklin county. Still hasn't applied for pistol permit yet so I wanted to buy something just as cool. An AR-15.
I don't want neutered "non character" rifle and would rather get a AR-15 with fixed mag. Few questions regarding it.
1) I know there are simple...
