None. I don't hunt. But I know that a 10mm (which you are probably fine with) hollow point will penetrate and expand about the same depth as a 9mm in gel within inches or millimeters of one another. (It's designed that way.)
I have taken 4 with revolvers, more with shotguns and one with a car. The car also took a big coyote. Quickest kills were with the car.
What revolvers and what bullet?
2 with .357 mags with six inch tubes and two with .44 mag also also six inch. 240 Grain sp and 140 Grain for the .357. Guess the bullet...

If I start calling 9mm carbines "9mm Magnums" since the extra barrel length increases the velocity to that of a .357 Magnum revolver and is the same diameter, can I kill deer?
How many deer have you shoot with a 9mm? How did it work out? Or did you read about it on the internet?
Probably none because he has other calibers to choose from. But someone may want to use it just like the guy that uses a .357 Magnum for the sport of having to get in close within 50 yards and not talking 150 yard shots.
You used a solid copper projectile that goes 1550 fps according to the box. From the same website, the 147 gr+p+ goes 1175 fps. From a 16 inch barrel, they usually pick up an extra 200 to 300 fps. So that's at about 1400 fps or so. Now here's what they'll both do. They'll both punch clean through on a broadside shot. The .357 with that particular bullet will do it at about 150 fps to 200 fps faster. What does that all mean? Nothing. A hole at about .355 or so will go all the way through with either caliber. It may destroy fragile organs that are softer than flesh and muscle but that's about it. The velocity for both isn't enough to stretch the cavity beyond elasticity on the skin and muscle though since neither projectile is going over 2100 fps like it would do with a rifle.
Wtf is the point of taking a underpowered carbine out in the field? If you want to carry a long gun why in earth would a person chose a 9mm for big game? The point of handgun hunting sport and for me convince. I am a lazy hunter. I mainly go to get away from the wife and take naps. If a deer gets really close I may or may not shoot it. If I’m lugging a long gun it won’t be a 9mm. I don’t see the reason why anyone would (unless it’s all they have access to and can’t spare the 150 bucks for a used shotgun or something.) I don’t used solids @Willjr75 It’s a copper hp that opens up nicely.
The reason would be.... Why not. What if I don't mind carrying a 6 pound carbine to hunt for close up if the shot presented itself since I wouldn't be really interested in hitting one long distance? What if I wanted to do the exact same thing as you but with a 9mm handgun using hard cast to just get away into the woods and hide from the wife? Are you telling me that a hard cast wouldn't be enough?
I will be using a solid this year though (the few times I get out). .45 super 255 gr from my hk or colt. Looking like the colt so far, I just shoot it a bit better. Carried in a vertical shoulder rig.
There are plenty of carbines with more horse power if you wanted to carry a long gun. I’m telling you a 9mm is far down the list but if you want to wait until you get a shot from 10 yards of course it will work. Most are not like me and want to get a deer all the time!

Why 10 yards? Even at 100 yards a 147 gr+p is still going at over 1000 fps. The same velocity at 100 yards as it would from the muzzle of a 4 inch barrel. Are you telling me that a deer will survive a point blank shot from a 9mm pistol?
My gosh you need internet humor classes. I was implying that you suck so bad at shooting you can’t hit past 10. Get out to the country and shoot a deer with a 9mm. Let us know how it works out. You might want to wait until it’s 5 yards though.
