As much as we don’t like what @Raven20878 has to say, he seems spot on.

All 9 justices are corrupt.
Thats what I was saying.I never said he can't "fight for his rights" if he wants to. I just gave him my opinion. Fighting for a Sportsperson restriction, at the end of the day, may not be worth his time and money. If he wants to spend that time and money just to prove a point, then that is his choice. It will not move the needle an inch on 2A rights in NY whether he wins or loses. NY will still use proper cause in an arbitrary way and judges will still be able to impose restrictions and deny requests to have them removed as they see fit. The only thing that will change this is a decision at the appellate or Supreme Court level that declares proper cause unconstitutional. This happened at the appellate level in DC. If the OP (or any of you) really want to change this in NY (and across the US for other may issue States), take your denial cases all the way through the appellate process and beyond. Put your time and money where your mouth is.
I think his point is that fighting to go from "Hunting and Target" to "Sportsman's" is a waste of money since both carry licenses are the exact same. They are both restricted.Thats what I was saying.
You came back with calling people "delusional" and saying we didnt know what we were talking about.
The point is, even in Westchester, you can appeal and win.
You may not realize but to alot of people, a carry permit is as important as food and breathing.
People quit their jobs and uproot their families to move out of state over this issue.
Some people even move to South East Asia to get away from NYS and US laws.
I know a guy who was denied a NYS permit because of a non-violent felony.
It took him 4 years and $12,000 but he won.
To tell someone they might as well give up and settle is fine, but, this IS a fight that can be won.
Don't mind being eaten by one of those. I wouldn't even draw my pistol. Not true man.
Saw a cougar the other day.
Well, more accurately at night.

That's like you fighting for permission to hunt with a state hunting license that via penal law is good for the whole hunting season but a judge restricted you with one hunting license that says that you can only hunt on Sundays and you are fighting for permission to hunt on Sunday and part of Monday.
The fight should be to be able to hunt the whole hunting season like the actual Penal Law says when no game warden actually enforces any of those restrictions because they aren't in the Penal Law.
Yall arguing the various firearms restrictions in NY is kind of funny. how about y'all shut y'alls mouths and do what y'all think is right without arguing on the internet?
If the Raven guy is an attorney, he should know enough about online STFU.
ty!!FIFY.
Choo choo driver's don't like Fudds. At least that's what someone told me.What about Choo Choo Drivers?
OP stated his reason for wanting the Sportsperson restriction was to protect his family from bears, coyotes and mountain lions (doubt he would see any mountain lions in NY) while hiking and camping. A 9mm handgun would not be very effective against any of those threats except that it will make a big bang and hopefully scare them off. A shotgun would make a louder bang and require less precision to effect the same outcome.
There's the guy my post was talking about!!!
Well, that was not his point at first.I think his point is that fighting to go from "Hunting and Target" to "Sportsman's" is a waste of money since both carry licenses are the exact same. They are both restricted.

As far as reasons to carry a gun in the woods, I can see why judges rule like they do.
Id much rather try to convince a judge that im worried about humans rather than animals.
There are no dangerous animals around here.
Ive spent alot of time living in Alaska.
A Caribu calf is FAR more dangerous than a black bear......
I would fist fight a black bear....
YepEast Jewett is in Green County.
