Wow! They are really trying to gut the bill.
Does anyone think it would be weird to carry a something like a Shield in a shoulder holster? Because if tgis does pass, and if I were of a mind to ignore company policy and carry on the road, which we all know I wouldn't cause Imma good boy, I would be using a shoulder holster. It addresses all the issues I would have with a belt holster I.E. easy access while seated, which I am most of the day, no issues with public restrooms, which are pretty much the only ones available to me, and ease and speed of removal should I find myself entering areas where carrying may not be appropriate, which I do fairly regularly.
The single stack Shield would sidestep any capacity issues.

Its really the only option I see that adresses all the above issues. I would become a "vest guy" I suppose. Tgere are light versions that wouldn't be to bad in the summer. Winter I'd just roll with a lined Carhartt vest.I tend to only carry with a shoulder holster mainly because I find IWB types uncomfortable. However, there are many disadvantages to shoulder holsters. They are more complicated to put on, draw time is much longer, you can basically only carry with it if you are wearing a jacket, and it can be difficult to find one that fits you well.
Don't even wanna try ankle carry, I wear shorts in the summer, big, heavy work boots in the winter. And I'd worry about the gun coming out of the holster as I climb in and out of the truck dozens of times a day.Ankle carry is good while sitting too. It's very easy to get to and you don't need to wear a jacket in the summer.
It's not going to fall out. Mine has a thumb break. I've run with it short distances to test it. It works better with boots too since it won't slide down to your ankle. And that's with a Glock 26.Don't even wanna try ankle carry, I wear shorts in the summer, big, heavy work boots in the winter. Plus it seems very uncomfortable.
Not since having lost 70lbs anyway.Bra bang maybe?
Jk I'm super bored now
K, maybe give it shot then. Won't work for summer though. Too hot in the south to be rockin' long pants. It's not going to fall out. Mine has a thumb break. who did you vote for, your boyfriend Chucky Schumeriod, or do you just like sucking his dick ~~~~ ya want to make this personal douche bag, bring it on.
My FFL is a former police officer. Every time I come to his shop, at night, he asks me why I'm not carrying. (Which is when I remind him that I've got a "target" permit and we both throw up our hands in disgust.)Yup. There are 3 types of cops. One who doesn't care that you are carrying. Another that is afraid of you because you are carrying and another that doesn't like that you are carrying and is going to make your life harder by disarming you for quote unquote "His safety!" while making your life difficult and or in jeopardy if you make a wrong move.

I don't know which County your located in but in Nassau you HAVE to inform the officer. This copy is the last page (44) & last paragraph in their revised 9/2017 hand book. I don't want anyone to get in trouble because of wrong info.
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE FOR ALL PISTOL LICENSE HOLDERS
All Nassau County Pistol Licensee’s, regardless of the classification of license they hold, are to be aware that whenever they have an encounter with any Law Enforcement Officer while carrying a licensed handgun on their person, in a case or any other receptacle in proximity to the licensee, or while transporting a handgun in a vehicle, the licensee should listen and comply with all directives given by the Law Enforcement Officer. The licensee should immediately, or at the earliest possible moment, and without interfering with any directives given by the Officer, inform the Officer of the fact that he/she is a pistol license holder and that there is a licensed handgun(s) on, or in proximity to their person. The licensee must listen to and obey all instructions then given by the Law Enforcement Officer and should never make a unilateral decision to retrieve or display a licensed handgun during any encounter with Law Enforcement.
Yeah, an ankle kind of defeats the purpose than in the winter when you can wear a coat.K, maybe give it shot then. Won't work for summer though. Too hot in the south to be rockin' long pants.
Gay, and in the way when seated. I'm fine with trying a shoulder holster, they should call it the Trucker's Holster.Yeah, an ankle kind of defeats the purpose than in the winter when you can wear a coat.
No bueno in the summer too with shorts. Perhaps a fanny pack if that isn't too gay?

View attachment 22125 When I took a force on force class with stretz tactical we did a car scenario that taught me carrying appendix with your seatbelt on is not very efficient. Immediately after that class I went and installed this in my truck. (See picture attached, I still wanna change out the whites zip ties for black, but you can't see them from the driver's seat anyway).
Now when carrying, I take my firearm out of my holster and put it under the steering wheel. I've got quick access to it while driving, and I just simply put it back in my holster when leaving the vehicle.
Since I carry appendix and with a seatbelt on it was not as efficient to unholster under stress as I would like. Sure I could do a lot more practice, but I found this to be a much more efficient way for me personally.to much "administrative" handling for this, not knocking whoever it is you learned from (deff going to be looking into them) but i dont think i have found one instructor who recommends vehicle carry like this
if anything it didnt teach you that appendix carry was "not very efficient" but might have taught you that you need to do more training

I do and have done a fair amount of practicing drawing from concealment and I've attendeda handful of training classes as well. I think I have a fairly good grip on how to do this efficiently. I don't want to give away any details of the scenario from the class as that is how he makes his money, but I can say when somebody has the advantage on you fractions of a second count. I can also reach the fire arm much less conspicuously under the steering wheel then if I had to draw from my holster while clearing a garment
I get it, I took no offense. Just wanted to share some of my rationale behind it. I also made an edit to the post and an ankle holster would be another good way to do this. Frankly, I should be probably carrying my glock 43 in an ankle holster and my 19 appendix anyway.again im not knocking you for your choice, just mentioning this seems to be in the minority of how to do things, not saying its wrong, thats how ideas get around, open minded critical thinking of what we are presented
