The point is that there shouldn't be any "juice" for anyone.....If I had that juice as a father, I'd use it. He merely asked the question and told the deputy who he was.
So if your kid, or you were in this situation you wouldn't try to make it "go away"? I see no harm in asking. Now if in this case the cop had said "OK, come get her and we'll forget it happened" I might take issue. But getting up to speed on the situation and trying to protect your kid...no harm, no foul. The point is that there shouldn't be any "juice" for anyone.....
That is the truth. My dad's local police in Palm Bay, FL stop you for 2 to 3mph over.Human nature. What's more strange is people who don't get this. If you want robot cops, move to VA or FL. You'll get your wish, just make sure you install a governor on your car.
Lord knows I've used the ol military ID to get out of more than a few tickets. The same thing happens with military plates, FOP cards, Volunteer Fire and EMS, ect. The same thing happens in regards to speeding and how you handle yourself at a speeding stop. Most of us have gotten warnings at one time or another due to being respectful and the cop seeing that.
Should it be black and white for fairness. Absolutely. It isn't however and if you can get off, you should try.

Right or wrong, any juice you got you're gonna drink. It's just human nature people.

I want laws that *should be* enforced 100%.Human nature. What's more strange is people who don't get this. If you want robot cops, move to VA or FL. You'll get your wish, just make sure you install a governor on your car.
The "famous" cop pulling over aother cop in FL was more than justified. They stop marked police cars from other agencies in those states. Hell, they stopped a whole convoy of us coming back from Katrina (you can find articles about it online).
In cop facebook groups, I war with them over this nonsense. Responding to back up a guy one day, writing him the next for speeding home from all the court overtime. It's crazy shit.

If you can "let him go, he's a good guy" on something you should let *everyone* go.
Are you guys honestly OK with a "justice" system where who you know matters more than what you did ?
