Official NYGF AR lower builds

Sooooooo, as a Christmas gift I am going to be getting a Ballistic Advantage 16" 9mm AR barrel in Government profile. My plan is now to build my NYGF lower into a PCC. I've been wanting one for a while and while I would ultimately like to get a dedicated Glock lower, it will have to come later. So I was thinking of getting the new Tork G-Block adapter for Glock mags, a 9mm buffer and spring and a 9mm BCG. I would strip the current 5.56 upper I have put together for this NYGF build and use the applicable parts to make the 9mm upper.

I saw saw played with that g-block at the ahot show. I wqs less than impressed. I hope it worka for you. Keep us posted.

IMO the colt smg is the way to go. IF LRBHO is important to you colt smg mags is the ONLY way to go. I know people say the glocks mags will hold open, but most will not do it 100% of the time.....especially with 10 round mags. They work better with the 17. But atill not 109% without fail.

Keep us posted. 9mm is a must have carbine imo.

Yes, the dedicated Glock lowers are more expensive than the Colt pattern lowers. I don't know if that will even out as demand for them picks up. If I'm not mistaken, they are a relativily new thing. The G-Block is also the first Glock mag well adapter on the market and is oddly enough less expensive than the Colt mag well adapters, which I guess have gone up in price with demand. So, I'll grab a G-Block while they are cheap.

It's already built. My thoughts were just to use it as the frame for the PCC until I got the cash together for the dedicated lower. But @Bullet Guy is making me an offer I shall not refuse. So that changes the plan somewhat. I'm still getting the Torkmag G-Block and I'll install and use it, if for no other reason than to inform ya'll in case someone wanted to know. It is easily removed, so switching the lower back to 5.56 is a matter of loosening two screws.

So the side build begins. Torkmag G-Block arrived today, took 5min to install, though I'm sure it will need adjusting once I get it to the range (if that ends up happening before I get the dedicated lower from @bulletguy ).
You have to cut a notch into the mags (cut some of the plastic coating off the mag) which even with a new razor blade is tough.
The mag inserts fine but can be pushed past the the catch if you treat it like a 5.56 mag. Maybe I just need to tighten my catch. The mag will stay in when tugged on and falls free when the release is pressed. The feed ramp will also likely need to be sanded/deburred.



Also, my barrel arrived. Looks to be a solid quality barrel!

It is my understanding that the feed ramp as it were is part of the forward piece of the mag well adaptor.
This is one reason adjustments will most likely be necessary because of height . I find it interesting that there are no feed ramps on the barrel extentions of 9mm barrels. Guess it just has to do with cartridge length?
No doubt, this G-Block isn't the most impressive adaptor, but hopefully it does the job. That is until I get the Glock lower from Eddie.

I didn't know this existed, but at $179, I'm better off with the dedicated lower. It is nice though, to see more companies like this coming out with these products. I'm gonna keep my eye on them for other components. If I can end up snagging a .40 barrel and bolt from these guys, I will. I have to admit, I'm really going about this build ass backwards, lol.

What I'm wondering now is if a .40s&w Glock bolt will work for 9mm like how the Glock 23 slide will cycle the 9mm with a conversion barrel in it.

I wouldn't want to have that logo of a real rifle on a neutered rifle. That's just.... I don't know. Stupid and a constant reminder. I also would never by shit from Bullet Guy.

Sooooooo salty! @Bullet Guy worked hard on this and did a great job. There were all kind of snafus with the shipping on the parts and he was great in helping me get everything sorted out. I must've pestered him with a billion questions and changes and he repiled to each PM promptly and addressed any issue I had. I have absolute confidence in him. He has done right by me.

Also my rifle, as you can see is not neutered. But I see your point. I bought this lower to help support the forums.
