You are probably right on target here. I do not own or have much time with a P365 but I was recently with two knowledgable and professional owners in Texas who each have over 3500 event free rounds through theirs. Their experience may support your comment that issues may essentially be manufacturing issues.

You are spot on about less striker drag with lighter loads I have pictures of spent cases showing less striker drag with my hand loads than factory ammo. I promise I will post them soon. As far as wrong caliber I don't agree. The only recurring issue I have seen with the earliest 365's has been striker falure. I feel this was caused by bad manufacturing and not bad engineering. I haven't seen all of the reviews nor do I give a rats ass what I read on the internet (because it must be true), I am speaking of personal experience. bTW I took my 365 to a class today and ran another 250 rounds through it. Still no problems from a pistol manufactured in early October.

It could be anything at this point and may not even be manufacturing. A lot more testing would have to be done. As I eluded to before it may be the materials. The striker metallurgy might not be up to the task. I think I read somewhere that someone is making aftermarket titanium strikers. With titanium I think you would be hard pressed to break it even with the drag. Since titanium is so light though I wonder if they are making the backend some type of steel to give it some weight. Either way that's really only a workaround for the issue at hand. I have a strong suspicion that the gun simply needs a more stout recoil spring.

I can load rounds for my tokarev that easily create drag. These loads are on the far end of the load data. But I bet the firing pin would never break as it's that ridiculously hard and durable hardened steel the russians make all of their guns out of. But drag isn't an issue until you get to the specific powder charge. That's what the 365 needs to strive to achieve. Anything else is just a bandaid.

The only issue I’ve had has been how I grip the pistol. The slide release is so close to my strong hand thumb that if I keep my thumb anywhere near the pistol slide, I end up interrupting the slide release and the slide won’t stay back on empty mag. I’ve been training to remedy that.

That being said, I find the 365 to be pretty mild recoil wise, very accurate even at 25 yds, and I shoot it better than any of my other subcompacts (Shield 2.0, G43, G26, RAMI), with the shield being a close second. It’s also obviously incredibly compact.

I did send it back to Sig for “failure to lock back”, knowing full well it was me, and asked that they inspect the striker as well. They ended up replacing the striker as a “courtesy”, I’m assuming to the new version. I’ve only got maybe 300 through it but I feel confident carrying it.

Does anyone that owns or has fired the 365 also own or have fired a makarov? If the 365 is comparable to a makarov I would consider getting one for carry. Until then I will stick with the tried and true g19 15+1.

You know. I understand that you or a friend has one but why can't you acknowledge the problems it has?

You can't surely without a doubt say that the problem is fixed and the striker is no longer dragging and hitting the rim.

I don't understand. I would without a doubt acknowledge any problem my Glock has. I even posted in the past my brass to face issue that I figured out how to fix.

I mean we are grown men here. Let's be honest. I want this pistol to work. Why wouldn't I? It increases my choices and options if it does.

This BS that all previous problems have been fixed is childish. Fine. You have one. I hope it continues to work and I hope your striker holds up but I hope they eventually fix the real problem that's causing the excessive striker drag.

I do. I actually want to buy one for my wife. I've said as such. But I'm waiting until that drag is fixed.

Who really cares? the consumer.

Again sig keeps making rolling changes, that we can all agree on, but they still are not completely reliable as say any of the other major brands out there (or even other sig offerings)

And they are supposed to be considered a premium brand.

But look at this a budget gun company just rolled out a new gun and it had issues, but here is what they said instead of sigs new go to "fuck you we make perfect guns there is no issue, be lucky we let you own our work"

It's pointless to argue with someone if they won't concede to something that is clear as day. It's best just to present real evidence for your case. It's like arguing with people that just won't admit the AK is far superior to the AR (this has been proven so no evidence necessary).

What’s clear as day is my 365 is perfect thru hundreds of rounds and I carry daily, with no fear of failure. More than any other mechanical device that is.

I dont own one. But between the guys I shot with there are 3 of them and another 3 form guys that I know but dont shoot with. None have had a problem of any type. Of the 3 that I have shot 2 are over 2,000 rounds and the other one is almost at 1,000.

I have not seen a piece of brass where the striker has contacted the rim. And who cared if it dose as long as it keeps shooting.. Striker drag is not a new thing.

Oh you haven't? Well some here that own them have and they've even posted it here. And if you go to Sigtalk forum they have posted theirs. The videos you've linked in this thread also show it.

Some other guns from other manufacturers do have some striker drag. That's correct. But it's only dragging on the soft primer itself a little and not dragging severely hitting the rim.

Who cares if it does? How about someone who wants it to work correctly? How about someone who doesn't want to always wonder if their striker will break eventually like it did to that guy who ran almost two to three thousand rounds in two days.

But your friends 365 don't do that. I guess Sig fixed those particular handguns and not others.

Glock drag doesn't drag to the rim of the case. It just drags on the primer only a short ways. The Sig is dragging all the way to the rim and the rim itself is stopping the drag putting pressure on the striker.

A stronger striker is working for now but even that stronger striker has broken for a guy linked above who ran about 3 thousand rounds in 2 days.

This is caused by the barrel tilting up before the case is extracted. On other guns it happens but it happens at the same time as the case is being extracted so it's minimal and not hitting the rim.

I will not take that chance. Not until it's fixed. I'll probably get the wife a Glock 43 or Shield instead when her permit comes in. Whichever she takes a liking to more.

So I keep my ears open for this, and i havent really seen anyone reporting any firing pin breakage. I am still waiting to see if MAC does another review
