.450/400 Nitro Ex
Swiss Army Knife with a 130mm lock blade. Knife also has a saw blade for making stuff with wood. Can opener, bottle opener and a few more. Wenger Ranger I prefer.
Lots of cute baby knives here. Just sayin'....
Lately I've been carrying a Kershaw Blur assisted opening with serrated sheepsfoot blade and the glass-breaker carbide tip. $67 and made in USA, 4 oz., 3.5 in. 14C28N w DLC coating. Wish they made a prettier one with fancy steel but for the money it's impossible to beat. Much preferred to my $200 Benchmade or Damascus Shallot for actual dirty work.
I was going to pop over $200 for a nice ZT but thought better of it and simply got another Blur. The serrations and carbide tip may be tacticool but being able to quickly cut a seat belt and break a car window is a good thing.
good grief thats a lot of blades.I also carry the smaller tanto blade Ka-Bar in my go bag along with my Gerber multi tool, a back up Kershaw shuffle and a set of push daggers.
You Never know when you'll have to cut your way out of a paper baggood grief thats a lot of blades.
I want to get a Bark River Bravo 3 and Bravo 1 in a piggyback sheath.
They'd throw you in jail if they caught you with that. One of the many reasons I wouldn't piss on NYC if it was ablaze.Just picked up the Ken Onion Blur from Kershaw. $49 to my door off amazon.
Curious if it is serrated or not as the picture shows it is not and online its available as both, prefer it not to be but either way I'm sure I will be happy
Cant wait to test of the speedsafe system.
Not sure if I will carry this with me daily into NYC as it might be too big for the pants pocket unclipped

I guess it depends on what tasks you will be putting the knife to. I so far find the Mini Grip to be adequately sized for my daily chores but a longer knife is better if you will be doing a lot of slicing. I do really like the blade of the Mini Grip, I find it attractive, sturdy, keen, and good at needling through material. The Griptilian sub frame is about half the size the scales whereas the Mini Grip scales are fully lined, scale failure does occasionally occur on full size Grips. If you don't like the plastic scales G10 versions are available but at significantly higher cost as the G10 model also uses more expensive blade steel. Or if you are patient you could custom order one however you like.Looking for a new EDC folder...So far I am leaning towards the Benchmade mini griptilian with drop point serrated blade. Not sure if 2.9" is too small but I hear that the lg griptilian is a weaker frame and feels cheaper compared to the mini. Any thoughts? Has to be a us made knife?
One of the reasons I want something smaller & less tacticool.
I dont like carrying a bag with me & I thought of one of those indestructible umbrellas built for self defense but something that is bulky/expensive ($300) and i would probably forgot on the train on a sunny day doesn't make sense to me.
My plan is always to stay aware of my surrounding and get away from any threat if I can, instead of engaging, however these recent knife attacks in London & even on the bus in Washington have me thinking otherwise.
