Now is the time to push for more. Instead of resting on this victory the pro 2A lawyers need to push further. When the left wins a victory they don’t stop and pause and rest. Neither should the pro 2A crowd
This is awesome! Now nys can’t deny minorities and LGBTQ people from exercising their rights! To think that for over 100 years NYS could deny minorities and LGBTQ people who meet all the requirements, passed all the interviews, passed all the background checks and provided all the references...
Well I picked up my AR pistol lower today and had it added to my permit in every possible caliber that you can put on an AR15 type firearm. Just need to finish searching calibers and then the plan is to start shopping for upper components
No it’s more of the wife is the type who views guns as a utilitarian item and you only need 1 gun for everything. She doesn’t understand why someone would need two guns or want two guns. So she views it as unnecessary and therefore unneeded. I have in the past pointed out “why do you need more...
I appreciate all the help on this topic. After doing more research on cartridges I think I will be ruling out 300 blackout in favor of other cartridges. One thing to bear in mind is that I want as much off the self components as possible, up to complete assembled uppers. I also want to stick to...
I just sold a pistol to friend who lives in Monroe county on Saturday. The soonest he could get an appointment to add it was July 6th. I still can’t believe they only do appointments for adding or dropping. I guess I’m spoiled in Erie county where I can do everything same day. I always thought...
Gun mag warehouse was short staffed before covid hit and have become even more so. I try to avoid ordering from them because they take so long to ship now. Best advice I can give is to call daily but not get nasty or mean in the messages. The employees there are trying their best. I have a pack...
With the 300 blackout in a pistol I would be thinking towards a 220 grain subsonic load. Would be quieter as well out of the same length barrel as a supersonic load. Since us peons in NY can’t have cans on our rifles or pistols I figure going with subsonic loads would be the next best thing
So I found a deal on an AR pistol lower. I think I will do both a pistol and a rifle for hunting. The pistol will be 300 blackout as it is What I would like. The rifle I’m undecided on either 6mm ARC or 6.5 Grendel. I’m also undecided on barrel length for both
You
interesting. I can use same upper reciever and handguard. Barrel, bolt and magazine being different isn’t bad. Only would need 2 magazines (1 to use and 1 as a spare). Looks like bullet weight is around 108 grains, which is a little lighter than 300 blackout 125-220 grains. Would that be...
I have not heard of that round and am not familiar with it. What benefits does it offer and in regards to an AR what is different compared to a 5.56 AR? With 300 blackout all I need different is a different barrel essentially. I can use the same bolt, upper receiver, hand guards, magazines etc...
I also think I am leaning towards going the rifle route. Being able to shoulder it with a stock offers obvious accuracy benefits to me. I could then go fixed magazine and pistol grip or featureless with a thordsen stock to have detachable magazine.
The reason I rule out 7.62x39 is that I already shoot 5.56 and have a ton of once fired 5.56 brass that can be repurposed into 300 blackout. I also find that 300 blackout offers the same performance up to 200 yards that 7.62x39 offers. I also have tons of 5.56 mags to pick from that I can...
That is something I’m keeping in mind. The last AR rifle I made weighed about 6lbs and was noticeably lighter than my mossberg 590 shotgun. I’m trying to ultilize things I already have in order to keep cost down. I think I’m leaning towards 300 black out as I can ultilize a lot of things I...
So I have an AR type stripped lower waiting for me to take delivery of. I’ve been debating about having either an AR pistol or an AR rifle set up for hunting. I’m leaning towards 300 blackout, 458 Socom/450 bushmaster or 350 legend. It would be a either be a semi auto fixed magazine firearm, or...
Yeah I have some of their 45 super online, but that involves shipping and and added cost. Hoping maybe someone locally in Erie county has some they would be willing to part with or knows of a gun store in WNY that carry’s that caliber.
Looking for new production 45super. Haven’t had any luck finding it in any gun stores or in a local trade so seeing if anyone here might have some for a bit obscene amount
I don’t criticize others decision to move. I criticize that the response is always “turn tail and run away” whenever someone talks about how to fight unconstitutional laws in California or New York. I’m active on the Calguns forum and I donate to their causes to help fight unconstitutional gun...
Or maybe so called pro 2nd amendment people should grow a back bone and stay and fight. For being such a supposedly tough group of people so many of them turn tail and run to a different state at the first sign of trouble. Imagine if in the 1980’s-1990’s a ton of pro 2nd amendment people moved...
And what happens if the ATF decides to revoke all FFL and ammunition sellers licenses in the state? At some point there will not be the option to run to a different state or location. At some point one will have to stand one’s ground.
What if you buy an assembled AR 15 lower that has a stock attached with a 410 shotgun upper and fixed 5 round magazine? That’s just a fixed magazine semi auto shotgun. Then once you take Possession of said fixed magazine semi auto shotgun simply remove the 410 shotgun upper and the fixed 5 round...
The 938 is 9mm and 238 is 380. The G43 is the most reliable compared to the 938/Micro9/911 platform pistols. The G43 however is purely utilitarian and does not have a personality compared to the others. For me a self defense conceal carry pistol has to be reliable with all types of common ammo...
I had a micro 9 CSE. Put about 800-900 rounds thru it and then ended up selling it to a friend. Only issue I had was that it was very sensitive about brand of hollow point it would run. Mine did not like Speer gold or federal HST. It would run hornady XTP ok however. It ran FMJ range ammo just...
Been waiting since January for it to come in. I noticed that the plates Glock supplied my MOS Gen 5 are all metal plates now. I had heard that the MOS was supposed to come with polymer plates but now it seems Glock switched to metal plates(?). Got my leupold DPP mounted and laser bore sighted...
What I find interesting is that in all this mess targeting Semi auto rifles, magazines, pistols etc there has not been one mention of banning any of the actual registered assault weapons. You know, the ones that were registered with the state when safe act took effect. The actual semi auto full...
They all got train rides to summer camp where they made cookies. Because they were worried about covid they a lot of focus on hygiene so showers were a big thing. At the end of summer camp they all got to meet American and British tourists.
Make them all fixed magazine with 5 round magazines to be safe act compliant as well. Then once transfer is complete the new owner can do as they wish. Human ingenuity will inevitably always outsmart human laws
So what if every AR15 sold in this state had a 410 shotgun upper installed on it. Then after you pass background check and take delivery you can sell back the 410 upper and exchange it free of charge for a rifle caliber upper?
And that’s where I will call for any caliber bigger than 5.56 to be banned, because if an AR15 in 5.56 is too dangerous, than surely any caliber bigger and more powerful than that can’t be allowed to be in civilian hands like 20 gauge, 12 gauge, 243, 270, 308 or 300 win mag. Then watch all the...
