    I like the 40 S&W

I love my .40 and load 180 grain and 200 grain for USPSA Limited Major, and load light 140 grain loads for 3 gun and steel matches. The light loads shoot softer than a 9mm. I’m shooting a CK Arms Thunder Limited in .40 but enjoy the Glock 35 too.

    Question about being a reference.

The Westchester application requests references from the same county, but believe people were able to use out of county references when they challenged the request. That’s actually held back of a lot of people, but seems it shouldn’t have.

which suppressor height buis to go with

I found that I only focus on the red dot, or the irons, but not both, when shooting competitions, on the clock or in stressful situations. I only notice both at the same time when setting the zero on the red dot, or during dry fire. I went with the Trijicons and love them.

Buying a new Kimber on Monday

Congrats! Beautiful gun. I picked up a .22 conversion kit for my Kimber Ultra Carry II this past week and love it. It ran like top and now I have a .22 and .45 with the same frame and trigger. You might want to check one out for your new Super Carry Pro, very reasonably priced, runs great, and...

3Gun Comp - How do US Marines fair?

If you can't support a military combat shooting team, I am sure you have huge problems with the Army/Navy game? I wanted to post an AMU link, the Army Marksmanship Unit. I hope many in the shooting community would see their value, but we all have a right to a different opinion. U.S. Army...

3Gun Comp - How do US Marines fair?

You sound like a typical Anit-Gun / Anti 2A person, claiming to know everything about something you don't understand. You weren't with these team members at an event, so you have no basis for an opinion, but you still think you have all of the answers, and don't want to hear anything else. Your...

3Gun Comp - How do US Marines fair?

It wasn't sold to my Son as an adventure. He has thousands of hours of volunteer time which he has spent as a Young Marine helping others. Friday nights and Saturdays when most other kids his age are all about themselves. He volunteers, Feeding and helping Vets, disadvantaged people, working...

3Gun Comp - How do US Marines fair?

We will have to agree to disagree. I understand the point you are trying to make, I just don't agree. I also think your opinion would change if you had more in depth understanding of the program, and the people in the program. I want people who are risking their lives for your freedom, to have...

3Gun Comp - How do US Marines fair?

What's really annoying is people who make ignorant statements before taking the time to understand what they are talking about, but hey, it's 'merica and someone fought for your right to be an idiot and say whatever you want, it's not hard to do a little research and show a little respect before...

Candice Horner took high woman, nice. Interesting caliber choice by Tyler, using 6mm Creedmoor over the more common 6.5 Creedmoor. I was surprised to read how many shot the Tac Light division, looks like PRS is getting more popular. Cool to read how his 3 gun training helped him perform at PRS.

    Pistol Drills at Restricted Range

That's great idea. My son ran malfunction drills at 3 gun camp last year where they randomly loaded a "jam" round in his mags, forcing him to randomly clear a malfunction. Not sure what they did to the reload to cause it to jam, maybe light loaded enough to short stroke the slide.

    Pistol Drills at Restricted Range

Some of my local indoor ranges will not allow double taps, but others do. Off hand shooting is a great drill, good to pratice both strong hand and weak hand unsupported. Mag changes might be more difficult. I would be worried about dropping mags at an indoor lane where they could fall in front...

    Pistol Drills at Restricted Range

I think about this quite a bit. I'm always looking for an opportunity to run live fire drills but most of my local ranges are indoor lanes with the limitations you mentioned. I shot a head to head 15 yard plate rack competition this past week and it was the first competition I've been to where...

3Gun Comp - How do US Marines fair?

The USMC Combat Shooting Team doesn't just compete, they also help train our Junior 3 Gunners. My son trained with them at 3 gun camp last year, they are an incredible group, who gave us a week of their time to help instruct and train our Junior competition shooters. We will be with them again...

    Cranberry Mt WMA, Putnam

I used to hunt turkey there a few years ago. Picked up a LaserLyte training system

Very cool stuff. I've got to do more dry fire this year and have been looking at things like this. Been looking at a Sirt, and software to shoot steel challenge in the living room, enables you to study video of your draw times, splits, and accuracy, but it's expensive. The laserlyte is cool...

    Big cats in NY

Holy Crap ! That's quite the pic. They are smart and deadly. They stalk people without them knowing, circle ahead of groups and pick off the stragglers. Pros and cons of body armor. Is it even needed for your prep kit?

IFAK would be a good idea. I have a Dark Angel kit with Halo Vent Seals, SOFTT-W and Celox. Carry it. I bring it to the range and all competitions. There was an ND at a local match this past month and the RO was hit in the thigh, someone had their Dark Angel kit and saved a life. The moment...

Pros and cons of body armor. Is it even needed for your prep kit?

Mayflower and Velocity make great plate carriers. The LWPC with a Haley Strategic DC3 chest rig can be worn under a jacket and nobody has to know you are wearing it. Ceramic plates reduce weight, but are much more expensive than AR500.

I have a meteorite collection. They can become unstable and crumble to dust, can't imagine firing one of those meteorite guns, or even handling it. Need help getting into reloading

All good info. When I say BG will save you time, I wasn't referring to loading quickly on a progressive press, this is not something you rush for sure, safety first.
