No shortage of those buggers in my neck of the woods. And I'm not saying, but there's noticeably fewer squirrels....
Of course the locals blame...(the initials begin with d....)
Thanks man. Came out pretty good. Not adding in my labor, I'm into it for about 250, but sold the stocks and field barrel for 50 total, so say $200 or so. Come summertime I'll think about selling it...I love my Ithaca.
I've no use for it, and it's crappy looking. So maybe I'll cut it down, clean it up and just give it a coat of flat black. Stick a front sight on it and call it tactical. My build deserves a barrel with choke tubes, but I'm not gonna spend the money...that's for the next guy.
Found a couple...
At first I ws going to buy a can of the Duracoat and spray it myself. I think it 30-35 for the spray, then shipping on top, and then a rookie spray job. Tarjac was around 50 for the barrel, but then when I was told half off and everything was only 80-85, well it was a no brainer. Truthfully...
Pictures later today, promise.
The birch buttstock and forend are on hand. They have pressed checkering, and actually they are undamaged but the finish needs some work. Hell, a couple a shots of laquer...
But for the price of the Boyd pieces it didn't pay to refinish, plus they came with a...
Skipping a story, I had a 500A, disassembled, and wrapped up in a garbage bag with duct tape. Inside the bag was the trigger group, bolt, and rails smothered in Vaseline; two barrels...a modified choke field barrel, and a rifled slug barrel. Both of these were rusted up, but no pitting. The...
The notch and blade system is better known as Patridge sights, and falls within the realm of iron sights. I believe this would include peep sights too. I have a red dot on a Mark IV, but have not had it out yet...my eyes are getting too old...
There's a guy on You Tube who speaks to this issue. Gunblue490. Very knowledgeable on a host of shooting and firearms topics. Give him a look, interesting and well qualified.
Nuisance wildlife, kill 'em all.
I have..had...rabbits. 22, CBs, end of rabbits. Might be an issue about the 500 ft (yds?) discharge business.
3 bunnies still in the freezer.
The furry bastards chewed up the gardens and made rabbit diameter holes in the lattice. I can't stand that stuff...
Good info. I bought a bag of 240 jsp from Bullet Guy and next season will load my own. In the meantime I've got a bunch of Remington 240 jsp and jhp I'll burn up for the brass.
I bought a Lansky kit with the base/holder years ago. I basically have a single hunting knife, a Buck sheath, and man, what an edge I put on that knife using the kit. Then we got an electric sharpener for all our knives and the Lansky stuff has been in the tool chest for years. I'll get...
Man, hurts to think back so far, thirty years ago, we retrieved a dead Atlantic sturgeon from the river. It was a female and over three hundred pounds. As I recall, it had seventy pounds or so of eggs in it.
BD, I checked, only charged once. But being a good fool, I called them. They sent me a postage paid envelop to return one set, which I did. Hell, I haven't filled a tag in years, let alone two in one season. Maybe this fall....
Good luck. NYS's IT situation...enough said. I recently purchased my hunting/fishing paperwork online. Got two of everything in the mail, bonus!!
No broadband on my road, can't use anything high speed anyway. I pay for sat tv, but all the movies stream by wire, no go. Third world.
No harm, see where it goes. My big beef is club meetings at night, websites and club info that is not maintained. Hell, my town can't keep its stuff current.
It would be nice to have a place where members can trade info on their respective clubs. Me, I can't do meetings at night, and hence I...
I was correct, it was Middleburg in Schoharie County. Link to Times Journal story about meeting ----

Another old 22 gets saved, good work! I got suckered into old Mossbergs, up to three of them now. Man, there's a ton of stuff available for those 10/22s.
