There is a place that will recondition the op rod to mil specs. I can't remember the name off the top of my head. I had the buttons replaced on two of my op rods. Good op rod repair. I think the place is in Columbus Ohio. "Columbus Machine Works" look them up. You will be glad you did.

State Police Announce Assault Weapon Registration Recertification Process !

Since when did you need to re-register an "Assault Rifle" every 5 years? There was no mention of having to re-register every 5 years after the initial registration. Hoodfu, It sounds like your confusing re-registering your pistol permit every 5 years with re-registering a assault rifle every 5...

Do you know what the chamber and muzzle measure? Take that baby out to 100 yards, bottom out the rear sight and come up...

If I am going to buy my first AR...

What I find real interesting is how these dealers can actually say that a particular AR is NY compliant. I am sure that the NY AG or the SP didn't give their blessing to what is a go or a no go. Just because it has a spur instead of a pistol grip? or the AR has one of those devices that prevent...

EDIT: Fake story - Told to surrender firearms for not renewing permit

That is not the case. My son once lived in NY and while a resident, he obtained his permit. Since then, he moved out of state and during this time, his permit was due to be recertified. He was allowed to recertify even though he lives out of state. Go to the NYSP web site, it gives instructions...

A buddy of mine who lives in Westchester had a visit after obtaining his 12th pistol. Nothing before that. County clerks want meeting with Cuomo over handgun laws

I am willing to bet that the recert law will be suspended just like the provision of having ammo mailed to your house has been suspended due the lack of any sort of tracking system that the SP was to have in place. The funny thing is that even the AC doesn't have to power to suspend laws that...

    Various Guns For Sale

I think your selling yourself short on the Garand. What is the date stamp on the barrel. Look up the serial number and it will give you a build date, that along with the barrel date will tell you if the rifle has been re-armored.

NY Resident Move out of State

    Traveling in PA.

It's not a matter of all states accepting a NY or Utah permit. As long as you legally own the pistol, you can travel through any state as long as it is locked up. If I am not mistaken, no other state accepts a NY permit.

Oregon Passes GOP Senator’s Bill Allowing Gun Seizure Order Without Gun Owner’s Knowledge

I will bet that the average permit holder does not have the resources to follow up as you did. Lawyers don't come cheap as everyone knows. These jurisdictions know this and they think that they don't have to answer to anyone. Glad you got your guns back.
