I consider leaving the State as a strategic retreat. I plan on keeping some property in the State, but I refuse to live under imbecilic laws that the various urban asshole politicians inflict upon "free" citizens. Maybe when the State overthrows these "DemocRats I'll consider having a summer...
I had the opportunity to shoot a suppressed KSG at the Windham Arms indoor range earlier this year. It makes the KSG into an even more awesome home defense weapon. It was still somewhat loud but not unbearably noisy. The suppressor was priced more than the KSG.
In the first two years a couple of conservative supreme court judges were appointed. That's a significant accomplishment. I'd argue some tax cuts were implemented too, at least for those citizens outside of New York. Still waiting on the wall though.....
I'd say the U.S. is done, as of the mid-term elections. Nothing is going to be accomplished during the next two years. And after 2020, Civil War 2 will be in progress, if not before then.
Well, that was the last time I vote in NYS. I'm so glad we have our house in Tennessee, and as a bonus, they just elected a Republican governor. Can't wait to move south into freedom.
I have a Barrett, single shot, and have the reloading press for it too. I've only used factory loads so far. It's an impressive piece of hardware. I can't imagine humping it very far, plus the ammo too.
I have one, I usually pocket carry it. It is snappy, but mine has been reliable. It's been a decent gun, and I probably carry it more than my other pistols because it's so concealable.
I went with basic calibers .22, .5.56, .308, 9mm, .45 and 12 G. Ammo amounts are based upon the number of guns in that particular caliber. And of course some of the ammo in certain calibers is used in both handguns and long guns. If I happen to acquire some ammo in a caliber that I don't use...
There are different shotgun loads for different situations. There are loads specific for self defense. Take a defensive shotgun course and learn how a shotgun can be an excellent defensive weapon. For instance the Keltec KSG is a relatively compact shotgun, which has two separate magazine...
I've had a lot of close contact with black bears. I would never consider carrying bear repellent, with my luck I'd spray a bear that has seasonal allergies and the repellent wouldn't work because his sinuses were clogged. Anyways, I've had bears paw the tent I was sleeping in, and all I had...
It would be amusing if some crafty individuals would keep painting Maxine with some red laser pointers, every where she goes. It might change her mind about inciting hatred against other folks. Though, I don't think she would get the message, she's not the brightest bulb on the tree. What...
We chose Tennessee, as the cost of living is very reasonable, and taxes are very low. We bought a home and some acreage earlier this year on the Cumberland Plateau, which has four seasons, but the winters are mild, and the summers aren't too hot. For example, the day after Labor Day I had to...
I went this morning. I wasn't impressed. However, I did find most of what I was looking for, though the prices were high. There was no where near 250 tables. I would say there was less than 20 vendors. I did like the empty aisles and the lack of crowds. I noted that Petronis is advertising...
Poor hygiene caused the illness, though chickens are a potential vector, not washing properly is the root cause. Other animals can cause the illness too, so chickens are getting a bad rap. If you don't nuzzle your chickens and wash up after being around them, then there's no problem. I've had...
I use a H&K .45USP as my HD gun. It handles well and it was very accurate out of the box, like most H&K's. I often carry a H&K VP9, and I like that a lot. It has the night sights, so it's the back up to my .45. The VP9 comes with the different size grip plates, so you can customize the grip...
I'm with you Jmac. My wife and I have purchased our retirement home in the free State of Tennessee. I asked my lawn maintenance guy down there where I could go shooting, and his response was, "Why not shoot in your backyard? Everybody else does it." There's no 500' from a habitable structure...
Lock this socialist scumbag up. Politicians shouldn't be above the law, nor should his security team, as they are just as guilty. Are law enforcement officers and politicians a special class of citizens?
Not just Watertown and Fort Drum, it needs to be publicized everywhere. Elise has done a decent job so far, though she's definitely a politician. It looks like Cobb is well funded.
The interconnection/cascade failure theory is nothing new. Roberto Vacca is considered the originator of the concept in the 1970's, when he wrote about it in his non-fiction work titled "The Coming Dark Age". He noted that if you're no longer getting mail delivery on a regular basis, then...
I have a couple of the Mossbergs, including one of their Roadblocker models and a Persuader model with a breacher barrel. However, for home defense, I would go with my Keltec KSG shotgun. It'll carry more than twice the load of the Mossbergs or a Remington. It's also much more compact, so...
On the Lake Champlain ferries I've had my car searched at least twice. They usually open the trunk and look around. They were looking for bombs, not firearms. It was supposedly random. I try to avoid ferries, mainly based on the principle that I don't like my stuff searched.
Another alternative are the various Zodi heaters. Some of the models use one pound propane bottles, or an adapter for the 20 lb. tanks. The one that I used had a 12 VDC bilge pump. They're not supposed to be used indoors either, but I used one for about 5 years in my shower, just powering it...
There's an internet vendor that specializes in .50 ammo: 50 BMG Ammo Supply - 50 cal Ammunition for the rifle and machinegun" I have bought some from Targetsports too, but I find that many of the vendors are out of stock of the cheaper ammo. 50bmgsupply seems to have a good variety of...
My wife and I made an offer on a home and some acreage in Tennessee last weekend, which was accepted. Now we just have to survive the mortgage process. I can't wait to move....already looking at suppressors.
There are many accessories available for the KSG. The latest version is rock solid reliable, and recoil isn't bad at all. The KSG is very compact and the weight is manageable. If something goes bump in the night, I would be very comfortable knowing I have a KSG available. I have a couple of...
Some States are better than others. The cost of living is 30% less in Tennessee than in New York, which helps those that are on fixed incomes. NY is among the worst States for taxation, and Tennessee taxes their citizens substantially less. The gun laws are much less stringent in Tennessee...
I think Gen 1 is better than nothing. I have a couple sets for loaners for the neighbors. But as someone has already indicated, you get what you pay for. You can get a PVS-14 for around $2500. There are also thermal scopes. I have one made by Torrey Pines that I'd classify a 1st generation...
If the freeze dried foods are kept at room temperature, they'll be fine. A record breaking heat wave isn't going to have a major effect on freeze dried foods, unless they're stored in an attic, or perhaps a metal building without any ventilation. So keep them in a basement or an interior...
Perhaps they ship to FFL's now, but at one time they didn't, and I haven't bothered to visit their site in years, due to their shipping stance. They are just as bad as Dick's they flutter in the wind. Either they fully support the Second Amendment, or they don't. In my opinion, they are just...
