yeah yeah yeah, my head is in the sand, i am just a dumb sheep, they are coming for all my guns......
The state has known about your pistols since the day you bought them but NOW they are going to come after them?
There are plenty of things to worry about. NYSP database clean up isn't one of them.
It already is linked. Enough with the fear mongering.
Count yourself blessed that you have a nice collection. A little paperwork is nothing to get all worked up over.
You are not giving them anything they didn't already know. You are basically donating 5 minutes of free labor.
I don't understand why people think this is some major invasion of privacy and FU if you consider anyone who recert's their license a "fudd"
I would think that any gun that appears on more than one permit gets check. It doesn't matter if it's in your possession or the other permit holders.
If the police show up and demand you produce all of your guns how are you going to explain they not in your possession if you didn't list them...
The counties have submitted all of the info to the NYSP. There is already a database and they can look up information. This was the database released a few years back and some a-hole made a website for it, it can still be found online.
When you looked at the database you could see that it...
You are assuming the NYSP are going to check if the guns you list match the county list? That seems almost impossible.
I think the only thing the NYSP are going to check are the databases they can plug your name into.
I agree, the county and the state already have all of this information but their record keeping probably sucks. This is just a do-over to fix years and years of half assed record reporting.
This will make it easier if one day we demand a state licensing system that eliminates the personal bias...

Looking to trade for something awesome. In need of AR lower / parts kit or handgun related. Willing to take cash in addition or kick in my money.
Aprox value is $250 based on finished gun broker auctions ranging from $230 to...
They have some information. Not all counties do it the same and not all the information is current. This is why the re certification came about. So they have an accurate pristine master list.
This bill establishes grants to study the best use and practices of non-invasive and non-permanent types of tracking devices.
One huge part of that is studying privacy and protection under the 4th amendment.
Sounds like a good idea until you fear monger it into involuntarily inserting tracking...
Head out to Wayne County. You can fish under the bridge and a bit upstream in Pultneyville or Maxwell creek out in Sodus.
Sodus has plenty of parking and stream, stay off the bank by the Bed and Breakfast, That's private property.
We would fish tiny flies on a long noodle rod with a float a...
FB does have a database or images previously removed or deemed inappropriate. It checks new uploads against the existing database. Sometimes you can get by it.
There is currently a legal battle right now trying to force the NYS police to release any information they have collected on yourself thru FOIL.
STOP THE SECRECY - S.C.O.P.E. Dedicated to the Protecting Your Civil Rights
I saw someplace else that this still had not been resolved. They understand that out of state residents may not obtain DL's. Perhaps you fill me required to get a NY non-driver ID
